Congratulations Braves fans. DK is a good pitcher. As an Astros fan, I’ve watched every start he’s had the last two years. I’m not a professional scout, these are my opinions. He’s absolutely a location guy now, not a stuff guy. If he’s hitting his spots, he’s good. If he’s not, he’s getting raked. He was topping out around 91, and his off speed stuff is hit or miss. I really don’t care about downvotes, and I really want to see him succeed. I’m just passing along what I saw.

Great deal for the Braves. He will be a steady rotation arm

Good deal for the Braves. No multi year commitment and I assume it's a pro-rated portion of $13 million.

Tehran, Fried, Keuchel is a solid trio of starters plus Folty and Gausman if they get things going.

ETA: or is the $13 million an already prorated number?

You're forgetting Cyroka.

$13 was prorated from 20. The Yankees offered 11.something prorated from the QO

His spin rate and ground ball percentage were still one of the best in baseball last year.

Solid rotation guy. Very thankful for Kuechels time in Houston. He was a piece of the foundation of the success of what the Astros are today. With that said, he has mostly been trending down the last couple of years and that’s what I expect him to be.

Braves got a solid inning eater guy that’s not flashy and has playoff experience. He’s most definitely not the guy you put on the mound if you’re in a must win situation.

His best days are behind him but for the price, I can't complain.

With Gausman being really really really hitty this year, this is an excellent signing for the Braves, They need someone to eat some innings, plus they got a veteran, experienced winner who will help out the young guys get to/win in the playoffs.

This is exactly what we need. Thankfully we aren’t looking for a TOR guy anymore.

Better hope y'all get the good version of him. As an Astros fan, I can say it's sometimes stressful to watch him.

Have you seen Folty or Gausman pitching BP two starts a week, hell we are used to it

So a solid rotation starter for a competitive young team with lots of playoff experience?

Seems like butt hurt, the guy has been solid for the stros.

So you've been a fan for one season?

Lol, he's only the third pitcher to win the cy young for the stros.

really good move

You get a guy who can eat up innings, and he will be fresh as a fiddle, with him sitting out this long. Like making a trade w/o giving up a single roster player or prospect.

And if he struggles, he isn't your concern next season.
