Brother and Sisters,

May is upon us. Let’s all pray to our chosen deities that it only rains the needed amount and only on weekdays.

I’ll be at Atchafalaya all weekend with the Am Tour. Hit me up if you are there and let’s grab a drink.

Hit them straight and Go Low!

Please post course conditions along with scores and see the new (soon to be) sticky thread at the top of the page.

played Audubon yesterday, shot a 37 on the front 9. best 9 I've ever played, by far. Took a lesson with Mike at English Turn a few weeks ago and he helped with my swing big time, I was all messed up. Took me a long time to get the hang of the new one and i still have a long way to go, but its coming together. after the first lesson i think my driving distance dropped by about 50 yards, almost called it quits on the new swing but i stuck with it and its back to the original distance maybe +10 yards but its way more comfortable and accurate and im still only swinging at about 65% as opposed to 100% with my old swing.

Congrats baw

It's amazing what a lesson can do, and it's always hard to trust that new swig. I just re-tooled my swing as well, and am trusting it. It feels so good not to have to think over the golf ball. Pick a club and a line and hit.

Still learning the game and have really only been playing for a year or so since I moved out of LA. Played yesterday at a course in SC called Lakeview and shot my first eagle. 470 Par 5 - driver, 8 iron (157 yards), and was 18" from the hole. Definitely the highlight of the round. Still suck though; I was +12 through 15 before the sun was down. Hoping to break 85 in the next few months. Getting lessons in the same time frame.

Work on your short game, homie. Usually inside of 100 yards is where the strokes pile up. Good luck and keep at it.

Yuppp. I've spent most of my time on the range lately working on my chipping / short game and it made my reconsider how I view getting up on the greens, but that's definitely where my weaknesses and inconsistencies shine. I left 7-8 'easy' strokes inside 75 yards yesterday staying too open or thinning it.

I was good at golf for a week and it was a lot of fun, but that week is over and golf is hard again. It’s a really really dumb game and I’ll probably play again tomorrow

Just a heads up, they punched this week and I think they were planning to do the big holes but haven't seen it.

Oakborne Tuesday

Played there this weekend and the greens are glass. It's in incredible shape but you better be hitting it straight and have a good feel for your speed on the greens or it can be a long day.

Played Lochinvar in Houston yesterday. My first time playing there. Tough course. I hit a lot of fairways and greens, but I couldn’t make many putts. The greens are fast.

Shot 79 with 2 birdies and 2 doubles.

NOLA City Park South, skanked it around for a 77, couldn't drive for shite. Got the weak rights going, sucks. At least short game was on point, somewhat saved the round.

Course is in OK shape, the usually primo greens are not the greatest right now. Tees and fairways were good.

Shot 75 yesterday in a round that could have been so much worse or so much better. Golf is weird. Put it this way... I lost 4 balls to water, 3 on 3 different par 5s and came away from those holes just 1 over. I also had 3 birdies but missed 3 more inside of 8 feet.
