don’t get your bad feelings for ULM. That is the most pro LSU university of the other colleges in Louisiana. You see almost zero of the LSU envy that large sections of ULL and Tech fans are ate up with. Very laid back people

I agree with this. Went to NLU cause scholarships paid for it and I really enjoyed my time there in the early 90s. Very pro LSU at the time.

Absolutely YES!!

Except for grads of ULL and Loyola. But that's by their choice....

If ULL alums can be Bama fans, I see no reason why USM alums can’t be LSU fans

I damn sure hope so. I have quite a few family members who wgraduated from LSU, along with my son. I've been a fan since as far back as I can remember.. lol

I live in Texas now, but I'm ALWAYS "representin'" lol

Yes.

It's weird. In Louisiana, no one ever asks if you went there when you're wearing a hat or shirt. In Texas, everytime I wear something, I get the question from someone.

It's just life in Louisiana. You're born and grow up a fan for the most part.

I was born in Louisiana, attended high school in New Orleans and loved LSU my whole life. I served 21 years in the Air Force (ours) and used the GI bill to go to college. I wanted nothing more than to go to LSU, but our 4 kids were in school in Miss.. My daughter was a Sophomore at MS University for women and the three boys were in 8th, 10th and 12th grades so logistically it was not happening. So I went to MSU which was a 42 mile drive for me. I wore LSU gear and sat in student section (in 80,82 and 84). We lost those three games but we one after I earned my Masters in 84 down in Jackson. I am a season ticket holder since 2000 and love the tigers. I am not a fan of F King at all.

LSU is Louisiana's flagship university. It's perfectly acceptable to be a fan of LSU, no matter where (or even if) you attended college. It's your American given right to cheer for whomever you want. With that said, if you're from Louisiana and cheer for a conference rival, that makes you a piece of shite. It's my American earned right to view people that way.

Again, I think it would surprise a bunch of people to learn just how many people like me there are in Lafayette. What pisses me off about the statement is it's true for a fraction of people, yet it's generalized and accepted by those who don't know different, such as yourself. If anything, most of them are indifferent, and a few vocal minority are the ones you speak of being hateful towards LSU.

Never understood the LSU envy. If fact, as far as sports go, a successful LSU who recuits nationally is far less a threat than the LSU of the early 90s when they were actually competing against some in state schools for signees.

My story is 100% identical to yours. I got into LSU and made plans to go. At the last minute, I went to ULM to stay closer to family and my girlfriend at the time. Plus, ULM offered some nice scholarship money. LSU was always on the TV or radio when I was growing up, so I've always been a fan

It’s funny how ULL fans seem to be anti-LSU. Most other fan bases in the state (ULM, McNeese, Northwestern st., Nichols, etc.) cheer for their respective schools as well as LSU.

Should’ve went to LSU since the girlfriend at the time ended up leaving me.
Worthless waste of time and energy to continue crying over spilled milk.

That's what you get for choosing P-Tang over LSU.

You could've always gone back to Monroe on weekends to see the Squeeze.

Wow. ULL grad but dont get where this so called hate comes from towards LSU. I graduated in the early 2000's and i wore my LSU gear all the time while attending. i never had any problems. I grew up an LSU fan and aint nothing changing that not even a degree from ULL. LSU has been in my blood since i was 5 years old and 40 years later its still there . I have attended almost all the LSU games that come this way and will never stop until the day i die.Something about that purple and gold

No offense, but if you didn’t go to LSU, you don’t have a TD. We appreciate guys like y’all supporting our teams, though.

Talk about all time regrets. You stayed in Monroe for a girl. There is so much fresh at LSU. Of course it’s acceptable to be a LSU sports fan but not an alum.

I've always felt that people should be fans of the school that they attended. Of course, don't abandon being a fan of another school if you've been one since you were a kid, but if you are an Indianhawk, be an Indianhawk fan.

Getting my seal of approval would involve one thing: pick a damned team and stick with them. Also, don't have different schools for different sports. Aren't those bama fb/duke hoops/ johns hopkins lacrosse fans an ABSOLUTE joy to be around????

Damn. That’s one of the worst mistakes of all time.

I can’t think of a mistake I’ve made that’s even close to that.

Shame.
