Nah

He'll probably develop his game quicker, but I still think Peak Griffin will be better than peak Zion

As I was watching the game last night I realized I can’t wait to see him match up against Draymond that first time. It should be awesome.

True, I think he will have similar production but with less injury issues so more valuable in the long run.

I don't think Zion has to ever become the best player in the league or even close to justify the hype he is getting.

To me, most of his hype revolves around marketability. At his peak, Griffin was a megastar. The media wants another star to pick up the slack when Lebron can't do it anymore.

I have no clue if he'll be better than Griffin. I'm not a very reliable NBA talent evaluator.

I don't really think they are similar at all other than the flashy dunks. Also,
quote:

37.5% 3pt%

Is disingenuous, he was 3/8 from 3 that year. only took 10 threes in his entire career. Zion was 21/74 and took 3 per game.

Blake was much more of a post up player. Zion is much more of a wing player. Zion has the potential to be more impactful than Blake due to that fact, but peak Blake was an elite power forward.

Good point on the first part. I didn’t look at their attempts.

As for the second point, Blake Griffin developed a reliable shot in the NBA and can score from all over the floor.

well then how does he?

Let's be honest. He has to be a longtime all-star and lead his team to a championship or two to justify what we've seen in terms of hype this year

funny bc this is currently Griffin's peak and he gets minimal press compared to when he was younger

Griffin doesnt get much credit for improving his deficiencies. It would be pure speculation to assume Zion can improve his FT and 3P shooting to the degree Griffin has.
