IF we've been cheating so bad, where's the success?

why don't we have multiple titles? Why were we losing so many players to Bama? We sure weren't getting much bang for our buck. It took a 32 year old rookie basketball coach to get any return on our investment.

Now you are asking the right questions. All we will have to show for this OLOL thing is 0-8 vs Bama and half of a season being a basketball school.

In this scenario, it sounds as though you are assuming LSU is the only school cheating.
I'd operate under the assumption that everyone is cheating, so it's only cheating by the letter of the law. You are not getting an advantage on your peers if everyone is "cheating." So, then you are back to some schools/teams/coaches being better at both the "cheating" and the actual coaching.

Where's the success... finished top 10 in football this season, haven't had a losing season in over 20 years. Many other top-tier colleges have been down in that stretch, but we've never dipped below 8 wins. We've had 3 title appearances in that stretch with 2 wins, and we've have about a dozen other 10+ win seasons.
You talk of "cheating" as though that buys you a title; I'd say it's more like paying a cover charge just to stay relevant. We've done that extremely well.

I'd say there's quite a bit of success there...

Nobody claimed we were any good at it.
