Atheists should be at least as opposed to abortion as religious people

if not more so.
Christians, Muslims, and some Jews believe in the afterlife. They believe that the aborted child will live in heaven.
Atheists OTOH believe this life is all there is. Therefore they abort a child with the conviction that they have denied that child the ONLY life it would ever have had.
No wonder abortion advocates have convinced themselves that an unborn child is not really a child.

Don’t worry. The infant will be kept comfortable.

Atheists are overwhelmingly in support of abortions. More so, than probably any demographic out there. ~70% align with Democratic Party, ~75% are white male and 46% are college educated with 34 being medium age. Only about 2% of atheists believe they know for sure there is no god.
I think you’d be surprised by how many people in these religious groups don’t agree with this.
Atheists are more concerned about the actual person carrying the baby and if she can economically support the child. In their view a child should not be forced on a woman.

The abortion issue is a very very tough one for me. I am not a religious man, though i am somewhat fascinated by my studies of the Abrahamic religions. (Only have a a slightly better than most grasp on buddhism and sihkism).
On one hand Abortion is morally reprehensible, especially late term abortion. I'm totally fine with the morning after pill..
The other side of me, the cold pragmatic side, feels that, sorry to he coldhearted, but the truth of the matter is many would be criminals, shitheads, and overall lowlifes were not set upon this world due to abortion. I do feel dirty feeling this way, but feel this way nonetheless.

The best arguments against abortion are secular.

If there is no God then why should the atheist care that anyone is denied their life? It doesn't impact them negatively in anyway and might actually be beneficial to them to have the child, of any age and stage, be killed.

I'm atheist and I have been opposed to abortion for a very long time
Not for the reasons stated in the open. But opposed nevertheless

I’m not committed to a stance on abortion in any way for someone I don’t know or am not responsible for taking care of. I’m committed to making sure my children know right and wrong, but I am not saddling them with a life-altering responsibility in high school if they completely frick up on behalf of their biology that is begging them to procreate.

Killing babies is not a religious issue.

An Atheist should not be expected to have an opposition to abortion.
If anything, an atheist should not have a reasonable opposition to selective breeding or eugenics.
They should fully support the policies of breeding a superior human species.
Killing off the less intelligent and genetically deficient.
That would be the most reasoned thought for someone who believes in evolution with no afterlife.

Am I an "abortion advocate" if I'm for the morning after pill?
