yeah it does appear that once you make it in the inner circle, it's kind of like Japan. you can suck at your job but as long as you work 80-100 hours/week, you're seen as doing your job well

He needs to pay a royalty to Sean McVay if he gets an NFL head coaching job

Him being courted by two NFL teams after an uneventful stint as Texas Tech's HC shows the importance of the QB position in the NFL. Both teams have 2nd year QB's and the #1 objective for both is to develop those guys into top tier NFL QB's. If so, they feel the other pieces will fall into place.
Or to put it simply, teams are looking for the next Sean McVay and are trying to replicate what he's done in LA with Goff.

100%
A good debate is KK v Lafleur

It seems like everyone is focusing on him failing at Texas Tech. We are talking about Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas correct? I can understand if he failed at Florida or Tennessee but it's Texas Tech! You probably not getting the best coordinators and probably not paying the price for them. Forget trying to recruit. Lubbock, TX!! Let that sink in. Will he fail? Who knows, but I can't knock for failing at Texas Tech.

Lafluer is the product of the coaches around him. KK is a product of himself. Packers made a poor choice and they’re gonna pay for it

In the NFL, he doesnt have a large talent disadvantage from being in a mexican desert, and he can completely let someone else worry about the defense and run it entirely.

I’d rather my team take a shot on Kingsbury than some of the other retread names floating around like Munchak and Caldwell
I'd rather give a new guy a chance than see some uninspiring retread hire. People with new ideas getting opportunities is good for the league.

No joke, although Jeff Fisher is available so there's always that.

being an offensive genius takes you farther in the NFL.
Player scouting and drafting/signing can be done by the GM and front office. You can hire a DC to completely run the defense.
He doesn’t have to benHC and GM, and he isn’t going to be at a huuuuuge talent almost disadvantage every time he steps on the field.

Yeah. It is kind of nice to see teams thinking a bit outside of the box and taking chances with guys instead of the old NFL way of hiring retread after retread. It is weird that KK gets fired from a college job and gets an NFL job, but at least its interesting.
Although you know this is always cyclical, and when some of these chances fail in 3 years, the retreads will be back in vogue.

Who fits his offense better? Rosen or Darnold?
Posted on 1/8/19 at 10:43 am to Fun Bunch
It’s fun that both went to Colleges to play in pro style offenses to prepare for the NFL only to turn around and maybe get Kingsbury as their HC in the NFL
