re: Bear hunting - PhioftheTiger1915
Me and my old man went on a spot and stalk black bear hunt a couple years ago in British Columbia with BC Guide Outfitters. It was a lot of riding around in the truck and stopping to glass to cover more ground, but we saw plenty of bears each day. We put multiple ground stalks on big bears and were ...

re: salt/mineral blocks - PhioftheTiger1915
I usually mix a bag of minerals and half a bag of salt, then throw a protein feed block right next to it. You can start putting them out now and check them ever month or so to refresh if needed. They will hammer them during the spring and summer and a little into the fall, but they don't pay much at...

2nd the M150. It is the best lock-on that Millennium makes right now IMO, and it's also the best deal out of the Millenniums on Amazon. ...

I've had some made a couple times at Deer Depot by Pete Giovenco in St. Rose. They're pretty damn good, would definitely recommend. ...

re: Grunting techniques - PhioftheTiger1915
If there are no bucks in sight I typically go with 3-4 short grunts in a row, pause for a minute, then repeat once or twice more. If I see a buck and am trying to draw him in closer then I’ll go with a deeper and longer grunt to try and get his attention.. Don’t really do it much outside of the rut,...

re: Tennessee confiscated my buddy's deer. - PhioftheTiger1915
There have actually been very few confirmed CWD cases in whitetail deer nationwide. These rules that states are passing are simply precautionary because conservationist don’t know how the disease is spread. ...

re: WWTOBD? Illinois bow hunting edition - PhioftheTiger1915
A 650 acre farm is big enough to bow hunt 8 guys, especially during the peak of the rut IMO. With that being said, there won't be much difference hunting a week earlier. The big boys are usually wide open during the first and second weeks of November....

re: Tips on training a blood tracking dog - PhioftheTiger1915
Take him on every blood trail this fall, especially easy ones when you know the deer is dead 50 yards into the woods. And celebrate every time he finds one like he just won the powerball. My best tip: Get a separate collar and attach a bell on it. Only put it on him when it's time to track. H...

re: Recreational boating waterways question - PhioftheTiger1915
Mark Makers
You beat me to it haha
When you say sandbar, how deep is it and are kids out there?
Depends on how close to land you want to get, but some spots are easily waist deep on an adult. Could always anchor out then walk in closer to more shallow water though. A...

re: list some new hunting gear you plan on using this year - PhioftheTiger1915
Just hunt the wind.
I personally do always hunt a spot with the correct wind and always have, but obviously it's not always chalk when it comes to deer traveling or moving in the exact pattern you think they will... Was simply suggesting an alternative that costs $8 vs $400...

re: list some new hunting gear you plan on using this year - PhioftheTiger1915

re: Broadhead question? - PhioftheTiger1915
