Would ANY of the top college head coaches - Saban , Meyer, Smart, Herman, Fisher, Dabo - hire an offensive coordinator who had not directed an offense as a coordinator in over 20 years?

If the successful coaches and teams are what we are trying to emulate, consistently producing good quarterback and offensive performance, then why should we expect this total departure from the norm for these coaches/programs to produce extraordinary success for our offense?

It was a flawed hire, generated by a fragile ego or a lack of comprehending the realities of what is needed at the position of OC. Hopefully it gets changed post season.

Need Briles or Kingsbury, it’s up to O to make the move.

E Isn't going anywhere. O wanted him from the get go, he's not going to fire him after 1 season.

Why are we still arguing the hire? You have a years worth games to argue about now. Why make generalized and emotional arguments at this point?

I mean technically he did it in 2016, as the OC for Orgeron, so it’s not like there was no experience there.

Not that it made it a good hire but they had some success together.

He was demoted at Auburn in 06 and hasn’t been one since so what do you think?

We fired a head coach because the offense was bad.

We then hired a head coach no other school would interview and who had zero ability on the offensive side of the ball.

After running off a highly regarded offenive coordinator —- he was a finalist for the Broyles award —- we hired an OC no one had looked at for over a decade.

This is where we are folks.

Name the best solid coordinator we had. What made them good?

If people would just step out of their LSU bubble for a moment try to look at these hires objectively we would be unified in just how ridiculous it all is.

How hard would we laugh if Auburn announced that they fired Gus Malzahn and promoted his offensive line coach to the head coach position and he in turn promoted the running back coach who hasn't coordinated an offense since the 90s, to offensive coordinator?

Well, that's how hard everybody is laughing at us right now.

The E hire was depressing. Just a sad, depressing day in Tiger football history.

The same could be said of the O hire as well. With out O there is no E.

Saban's OC has a head coaching record of 3-31. You think he is a great OC or has talent?

You ever think with he money we were paying out on les and Canada LSU simply couldn’t afford to pay another big money coach. Now that we have money due to paying the ex coaches off we can get an offensive coach and maybe E took the job cause LSUwas in a bind and he bailed them out. Now he can go back to what he wanted to do and unass the offensive coaching position.

Could not agree more. If LSU is ever to compete for a national championship again things need to change. It seems we play NOT to lose rather than to WIN. The Texas A&M game was a classic example. Every time we had a chance to WIN the game we simply did NOT take advantage of the opportunity. Hard to watch as a Tiger fan. NO guts NO glory as they say. Ensminger can take his boat load of cash and chill somewhere besides Tiger stadium up in the press box. Love the person but hate the coach. Let's move on in 2019....... Geaux Tigers!

So how did the awful Coach E and inept Coach O pull the wool over the eyes of a super bowl QB and son and get him to commit. Kind of like the same awful two guys convinced Burrow and his experienced defensive coordinator father.

You guys are nuts.
