For millineials, is it possible to stay in one job for entire career?

Just saw some stats from a non credible website that says people change jobs every 8 months. Obviously with companies laying off left and right, is it possible to work in the same company for 40 years now?

It's possible, but typically not the most advantageous. The quickest way to progress and get more money is to change jobs.

2.25 years is the longest I've ever been with a company.
I suppose I'm technically a millennial, but I was born in the mid 80sm

I think I'm a millennial. I am 34. I have been with my employer for ten years.

Millennials don't have the chest for that.

chances are very slim going forward given the dynamic nature of both employees and employers

I’d love to stay with my company until I retire, but they are making it difficult. 8 years in and I’m ready to head out.

Sure, if you want to have slow career and financial growth

Of course it's possible.
Is it advantageous? That all depends.

Possible? Yes. Without pensions there is no big carrot for people to stay with a company for their entire career.

It depends on what you do, your education level and skill set, and your geography.
Changing jobs every 8 months isn't right - I imagine the median is probably around 3 - 5 years for white collar jobs. That should start slowing down once you hit your peak earning years.

That's not how the current business environment works.
