OUT
Evan Gattis (FA)
Marwin Gonzalez (FA)
Jandel Gustave (FA)
Dallas Keuchel (FA)
Martin Maldonado (FA)
Brian McCann (Signed with Atlanta)
Charlie Morton (Signed with Tampa)
Tony Sipp (FA)
(As is the case with many free agents across the league, a very large number of them still have not signed anywhere as of 2/11)
ACQUIRED
SS Aldemys Diaz (traded from Toronto for minor leaguer Trent Thornton)
C Robinson Chirinos
OF Michael Brantley
LHP Wade Miley
**Traded 3B J.D. Davis and SS Cody Bohanek to New York Mets for prospects SS Luis Santana, OF Ross Adolph and C Scott Manea**
There was also a lot of turnover on the coaching staff which isn’t a big surprise with the success we’ve seen recently. Most notable change is Alex Cintron being promoted to hitting coach. Don’t worry though as DAT legends AJ Hinch, Brent Strom, and Gary Pettis will still be holding down the fort
Here is a helpful chart I came across covering our 40 man roster and the contract situation for each player. Expect a major theme of 2019 melts to revolve around starting pitching uncertainty going forward
Let me know if I’m missing anything or if anything needs to be corrected. Looking forward to another fun season

Was cheering for you guys after we lost.
Have seen a lot of talk in various places about Realmuto and he has been connected to just about everyone, including you guys.
What do you guys think it would take/be willing to give up for Realmuto?
Braves have been after him for a full calendar year but they have been asking for an insane package. Our MLB.com beat writer said today he will be our #1 priority this offseasonand he thinks we are obviously more willing to deal now after a big step forward. Suggested Soroka (consensus top 25 prospect who is penciled in to our ‘19 rotation) and Riley (consensus top 50 prospect) as the headliners the Braves would probably be willing to stomach. Probably 2 of our top 4 prospects if not 2 of top 3.
What would be an equivalent for you all? Alvarez obviously is a good Riley comp. I assume Whitley is off limits. Maybe Alvarez/James?
Would you all be comfortable with that to fill the hole at C?

The hero we need. Looking forward to talking with the real Astros fans again. If not advancing this year means losing those new money "fans" then it's a price I'm willing to pay.

Tucker for Realmuto?
Although I think if that was going to happen, it would of happened this year.
I’m not sure we are going to target him. Maldonado wasn’t spectacular behind the plate in the post season but he was decent in the 40ish regular season games. It could go either way in my mind.

Our offseason is gonna resemble an NHL team with all the injuries and surgeries that will come out.
I would like to thank Keuchel and Gattis for the years of service, but I won't miss them.

Season didn’t end the way we wanted, but only one team’s does. Time for the walking MASH unit to get well and come back next year hungry. No idea what to expect in offseason moves, but it should be interesting.

Dang that sucks.
Luhnow is going to have some interesting decisions if true. Could only have JV and Cole back. Return of Jabroni?
ETA as for catcher Maldonado was a big time mixed bag. Ramos grandal and wieters are the “names” in free agency
Also finally have some deadweight of sipp and gattis off the books

Losing McCullers will hurt, hopefully they resign Morton. Also, wonder if this means they offer Dallas the qualifying offer in hopes of bringing him back.

Enjoyed the back and forth this season fellow DATers. Took a perfect storm of events to get eliminated this year. Ran into a hot team that played well but also caught every break imaginable with a manager that had as much inside knowledge of our team, our manager and our ballpark as anyone. Throw in some key injuries, apparently some even more severe than we thought and it just wasn’t meant to be.
Time to get healthy, get a catcher, get a DH, and find some spots for some of the up and comers by trimming some fat from this roster.

Need a catcher that can bring something to the offense. I don’t see Maldy back especially with one more year on McCann’s contract.
I’d say Mchugh gets back into the rotation with James and Whitley being the other two.
