Lance has thrown his last pitch as an astro.

Time to rebuild.

I support...

... signing Bregman long term.
... signing Correa for 5+2 years with opt out after 4 yrs.
... signing Springer long term.
... signing Marwin to a 3+ 1 mutual.
... qualifying offer to Keuchel.
... 1+1 player option for Morton.
... LMJ to the pen after TJ surgery.
... Unamputation surgery for Altuve.
... James into LMJ role.
... Sipp to the Rangers.
... McCann to retire and become Strom’s protege.
... Gattis to the Orioles.
.... Realmuto would be cool, but not likely. The core guys have to get paid first.
.... this thread.

Great season we witnessed. Very happy how the team performed.

What kind of package could we get for Altuve?

Verlander has one more year on his deal... I wonder what the chances are of him getting 2-3 more from the Astros?

He'll be 36 next season, but no reason to think he's done yet.

It's over. I told yall in the off season not addressing the offense was gonna sink this team. It did.

Great run enjoyed the ride with you DATers. Ups and downs, injuries and bad ju ju got us but, that's baseball. Beat by the best team in baseball no need in hanging our heads. I like the future going forward, and with a little tweaking and some good R & R in the offseason we'll be back at em next year. Go Stros!

Given the impending amputation we’d be smart to listen and move quickly

Good discussion so far baws. We have to see how many surgeries are happening before knowing what Ludlow will have to do.

LMJ, Altuve and Correa all under the knife? Oh boy.

I am hoping Correa’s isn’t that serious. He looked much healthier the last week than he did earlier in the year

I think Marwin is the most interesting FA we have. I would love to have him back but I think he will be very sought after

I think we have to re-sign Marwin or find someone else by trade/FA at least like Marwin.

Derek Dietrich by trade from Miami is kind of that guy. He would fit the Ludlow blueprint.

Yeah and I feel like whoever we get to replace him is probably going to be a downgrade. Marwin isn’t great in the MIF but he’s passable. Replacing his combo of versatility and bat with one player would be very tough

I would give him shite for taking Brady Aiken over Aaron Nola, but Aiken not signing landed Bregman.

Since we're gonna see lots of youngins make starts next year on the mound, getting a Marwin clone like Dietrich on cheap salary makes that 12-man staff plan easier. Trading for a great utility guy is much cheaper than Realmuto dreams.

Here's why I say that.

I bet we'll see Tucker get full run in LF and the Fat/Tony combo at DH to start next season. So if they can trade for the right Marwin replacement, that opens the door for spending on the FA I hope they go after -- Wilson Ramos.

I know he isn't a plus defender, but Tony Kemp did play a lot of IF in the minors. No reason he can't act as a bit of a UT guy as well.

Or Gurriel with White filling in at 1B.

Yeah Bregman and Kemp’s versatility would let them get a utility guy like Dietrich who should probably not be playing 2B or SS under any circumstances.

He was also real bad in the OF tho yeesh

I would absolutely support signing Ramos

Yeah we could see that, too. Bregs can play SS. Yuli an plays 2B and 3B. But I think Hinch wants a true Swiss Army Knife.
