Virginia Buttonweed will destroy your lawn.

I wasn't paying attention last summer and this shite took over my back yard. Half of my St. Augustine grass was destroyed, and a year later it's only about partly recovered. I now walk around like a crazy man with a jug of weed killer trying to catch every plug of this shite. It is everywhere.
You have been warned.

Bro, get some image and attach it to your hose. It’ll nuke that crap

fertilome weed zone will take care of it

i now pay $500 a year to control that shite and burr weed, and it's worth it.

You have to use the correct weed killer. And that will only kill the buttonweed. It then let’s all sort of other weeds kill your grass. That is what I am dealing with now. Lawn gone.

My lawn is about half-weed, half grass. I don't give a frick. Just keep it short and it looks decent. Don't feel like wasting my life fighting nature.

Buy Celcius or msm. Msm a lot cheaper and it kills it, been using same bottle 4 yrs and doesnt matter what the temp is

Great stuff but the temperature has to be below 85

Just pretend it’s the grass of choice and roll, looks good in the pic
We have too and frick fighting that shite, it’s green and mows easy

2-4-D is your friend.
But be careful in this heat. It can fry everything, not just the Va Buttonweed

Yep.
I pay $120 every 3 months. Next door neighbor and neighbor across the street are battling torpedo grass. My lawn has none.

Weed B Gone . Sprayed some today actually. I spot spray every other week or so when I see some. Also , an ole timer hipped me to this a long time ago , pull the shite up by hand when you see it and then spray what you done feel like pulling. This buttonweed comes up in late summer and can creep up on you if you don’t watch out for it .
My yard is beautiful because of Weed B Gone and my yearly weed and feed I put out in April.

It is the worst. I had (have) a terrible case as well. Celsius kills it.

agreed...damn good chemical that is cheap as hell. I am not sure I would use it in this hot weather, as just the vapors will drift and kill a lot of desirable shite.

Thank you for this post. This shite drives me nuts. I feel like when I pull some, it doubles when it grows back.

True to this. Just keep it cut and edged and it should pass for decent enough.

What specific bottle of Celsius? We have Virginia Buttonweed bad this year. I’m desperate to get rid of this shite, it seems I could stand there and watch it grow.

MSM is probably the best answer.
