Yes it's bad stuff. Just one word of caution.....if you have dogs some of these weed killers (including 24D and MSM) have been shown to cause cancer in your pets.

Got a link for that? I was about to buy MSM until I read your comment, but everything I can find makes it sound rather safe

Do you have to mix MSM with water in a sprayer? What’s the ratio? I’m getting this stuff as soon as I get home Wednesday.

Supplementary instructions given to me at the Nursery:

MSM TURF HERBICIDE
TO ASSIST IN THE CONTROL OF VIRGINIA BUTTONWEED
- Can be used on St Augustine, Bermuda, Centipede, and Zoysia lawns.
- 0.1 oz = 1 teaspoon
- Maximum rate for Centipede is 0.5 oz per acre.
- Mix 1/8th teaspoon in 1 gallon of water along with 2 teaspoons of Spreader Sticker to cover 1089 sq ft.
- Reapply in 4-6 weeks if necessary.
- some Chlorosis or stunting of turf grass may occur following application.

Just keep it short and it looks decent.

This is what let’s weeds take over your yard if you have a St. Aug lawn. Mow height of 3.5 inches or taller will allow the grass to choke out the weeds.

Virginia buttonweed is sneaky AF. It really doesn't look that bad IMO, so can be easy for someone to ignore, but it is very aggressive and will completely demolish your turf grass. It had taken over a decent patch of my back yard about a year ago. One round of Celsius zapped it, but that part of the yard was basically dead for the remainder of the year. I think it has almost fully recovered though.

Right now, dallisgrass and nutsedge are my two biggest headaches.

It is the worst. I had (have) a terrible case as well. Celsius kills it.

I have done that too, but has anyone found what kills chamberbitter (gripe weed)?

I've had really good results with Bayer Celcius on buttonweed. I just ordered a bottle of Fahrenheit and thought I'd give that a try since it is also made to use for broadcast applications as opposed to just spot treating with Celcius. Has anyone had any experience with Fahrenheit?

The lack of root structure of button weed means that your yard may look green, but will turn into a boggy mud hole.
