They are people. They deserve to be treated as people, and get medical, psychological, or psychiatric care commensurate with their illness.

If they act on it, don’t bother with the sex offender registry or anything else. Life in prison, period. The damage they’ve done cannot be undone. The punishment should be as severe.

No, it's our job as a responsible society to provide as safe a haven for our children as possible. Part of that responsibility is to shame and punish such irresponsible behavior.
