The Woodlands Full is still going on March 6th & isn't sold out if LA goes to hell for you guys.

Two extra months + the drive sucks but it is a solid experience.

Hope you find out soon. Boise Marathon screwed me with a last minute cancelation.

Welp, just got word from a reliable source that La. events will be virtualized. How deflating, still holding out hope..

I was flirting with doing it ( the half) on light training but doubted it would happen unfortunately. Had one of the best runs of my life earlier. 7.25 miles at 8:35. Felt like I could have gone another 7. Probably pretty standard for most of y’all but it’s not often I’m in the zone like that.

virtualized

Virtual racing is one of the saddest things I've ever done and I can't wait for it to go away.

Yeah it’s a total money grab. I don’t see the appeal at all. Can’t imagine anything worse than going out and running a marathon by myself.

Yeah, no. It’s hard enough to get my regular training runs in solo much less a freaking marathon.

Did 14 miles this AM with the run group. First 5 miles were a little slower than usual as we had a VERY hilly opener. Got flatter after that and pace came back down to what I’m expecting. Averaged 9:00/miles and HR of 160. 700ft of gain today. Most of it was early.

Yeah, I’m not doing the official virtual if it comes to that. When I registered they asked what you wanted to do with your entry if cancelled and I said refund, no virtual. That said, I’m still likely to run 26.2 that weekend. Just gonna have to map out a course/aid, etc. Sucks! Holding out hope until I hear something officially.

I opted for the refund as well if they cancel. Also booked a free cancellation hotel at Cook hotel @lsu. Im def not running that distance unless its the real deal. My body is up for it I just get crazy bored running solo after a couple hours.

My HM attempt was a failure. I ran 11 miles at 6:52 before I quit. I just didn’t feel great, and I didn’t see the point in continuing to suffer alone on an empty wind swept road.

My heart rate was over 180 starting at mile 2.5 and climbed over 190 by the time I quit.

It's looking like I may pivot to this Marathon in Sugarland, TX. if La is indeed cancelled. Same day as La. I just wish they would make an announcement soon if it is indeed canceled, before this one fills up.

Thanks for finding that Roots ,I just signed up for the half.

Just worked it into my plan and I'm running it shooting for sub 1:50:00 and going all in at 100% race effort.

Wore running tights for the first time yesterday. Wasn't expecting them to be so warm and comfortable.

Roots,

Spoke to my coach and due to Covid NOTHING is certain but that race looks really good to go. That group just conducted a 30K last week in the same county with the same approved covid protocols.

Kballa6 could jump in too !

Cool deal, still holding out hope for La., but really wish they'd let us know something soon. Word is the permits haven't been approved yet... Thinking I may bite the bullet and just register for Sugarland anyway and just eat the $100 if La. is a go. Better than being stuck with nothing if La. is cancelled and Sugarland fills up.

Yep, March is a no go for me. Already registered for the Sugarland race. Looks like I'll be doing some traveling Fri or Sat. Not ideal, but it's 1/17 or bust for me.
