Right. They also exclude pleading down other charges tacked on. Take the full sentence of a drug possession charge for throwing out 2 other related charges.

I wouldn’t be against legalizing prostitution. I don’t want to legalize drugs and have drug issuers all over the streets.

Do you think a white suburban mother with no prior criminal record should get the same sentence as a black man with a lengthy criminal record for the same offense?

are we talking about drug possession? because...yes?

the argument that we should make future convictions of an irrational, punitive "crime" worse is asinine

and in LA, lots of the people in jail are sitting there b/c they can't bond out b/c our state is a welfare system and the sheriffs need that state-funded prisoner per diem to fund their departments

Well I am pro-gay marriage and anti-death penalty so I suspect those count. Although neither is definitively liberal.

I’m pro-choice, but not for late-term abortions, pro-gay marriage, legalization of marijuana and prostitution, and I’m anti-organized religion...organized religion is nothing but a Ponzi scheme.

I'm ok with legislatively decriminalizing many drugs.

Yes

- Legalize weed
- I probably lean pro-abortion, but not because it is a "woman's right" (screw that bullshite). I also think it's a death. I'm kinda mind screwed about abortion..
- Safety nets for people who need assistance, but not generational
- Anti-descrimination for gays, but screw trans people since they're so annoying.
- Drug laws, rather see prison as a penalty for violent offenses

Lots of political thought is affected by us seeing a bunch of assholes on tv and the internet doing stupid and mean things.

When a conservative thinks about a welfare recipient, they think of the stereotypical shitbag who does anything they can to not work and get a paycheck from the govt.

I try to picture a person receiving assistance temporarily while they trying to better their situation as well.

We all think in stereotypes. All of us.

Most folks don't have a problem with this, but welfare and other government assistance programs, have become a way of life for too many people and have done more harm than help.

Prostitution should be legal and the federal government should pay for it.

I think most normal people would bake the cake. I know a lot of religious people, and I don't think any of them would not bake a cake for gay people. Most religious people are full of shite just like the rest of us or even more so. Seems like this was just a grandstanding story on both sides.

I really think that our drug laws are unfairly enforced by race. This is the real problem that BLM should be screaming about because the facts back them up. Police aren't shooting unarmed black teenagers 10x a day like some people want to believe, but there are black fathers in jail for less possession than you'd probably find in the average suburban home.

So, do they not prosecute people they catch with drugs who live in an average suburban home? What facts back up this claim? Does this mean that murder is unfairly enforced by race as well?

To answer the question, I'm for legalizing pot, and am OK with abortion in cases of rape, incest, and when the life of the mother is truly in danger.

IMO this is a right wing position. Maybe not a republican position but it is a small government position, a states rights position, a limited intrusion of government into personal matters position and in general, it doesn't get much more true right wing then that.

I hold many of the same beliefs on social issues. I do get annoyed by the lack of promotion of traditional family values though. I have stated such on here many times and even said5 years ago that I thought the more mainstream being gay became, the more weaker individuals would gravitate toward that lifestyle as a place to fit in. I was laughed off the board because of it, but I was right.

Sure. For abortion, gay marriage, legalization of all drugs (let Darwin do work) and prostitution, and I MAY be for subsidizing basic healthcare (portional coverage of regular doc visits, prescriptions, vaccinations) for everyone if we can cut government spending in other areas.

There's a lot of waste in our government and I think it would be better spent on healthcare.

Yes, of course. Very few people are 100% left or right if they're truly honest with themselves.

Not really, no. All of my old libertarian beliefs have slowly morphed away due to statistics and facts. I guess you could say I am one regarding the military, but the truth is, up until the 1950s, all "conservatives" were against policing the world as well, so this is still hardly a liberal belief.

Edit: and I have accepted we are going to be using the wrong definition for the word "liberal" in this thread
