You’re out here on an LSU message board calling one of our players, that you’ve never met, a tool based on what some a-hole in Ruston told you? Sounds like you’re the tool.

Slaughter gave it his all, but he would have benefitted from coming back... but, perhaps he saw the writing on the wall (he may be replaced by a freshman coming in!), and his best chance is to move on to pro ball; but, he doesn't seem to be ready for the minors

In the 5% chance scenario that Turang makes it to campus would you move Hughes to 2B?

Kid got drafted by Theo Epstein not once but TWICE. But rantards think the kid is garbage. What does a person like Epstein know about baseball anyway?

Was it all part of his strategy to wait until the 18th round?

Cmon baw, that shows what teams think about him & his body of work here.

No, you want your best glove at short... If Turang makes it to campus, both he and Hughes would be on the left side of the infield with Smith at 2B.

Putting Hughes at 2B would be a waste because you are suffocating his one good quality. Would be pointless.

His play was average at best but what made it worse is the fact that he’s a major tool! Icing on the cake is his dad is even a bigger one!
Straight from a prominent family in Ruston that knows them!

Wow

Kid has never done anything to give me that impression
He may not have been the best player on the field but he doesn’t deserve that

It'll be interesting how it plays out. Keep in mind if Brewers don't sign Turang, then they lose that slot money (as you said a little over $3 million), it's not like they can just spend that money elsewhere.

Brewers could go to $3.5 million on their offer and basically have same amount of money to spend on other top 10 picks (as you are allowed to slightly go over before penalties kick in). They saved slot money for sure in rounds 6,7 and 10 with the college sr's and if Gray and Bello sign anywhere below slot in round 2, then they can probably get to $3.7 pretty easily.

Would Turang turn down $3.7 if his number coming in was $4 million? Can't imagine that happening but we'll see.

ink with the numbers crunch this summer either Cain or Mainieri did their post draft phone calls and Cabell was the only player that wouldn't tell them his intentions (at least to either enroll in school or what his number was

This is what I'm thinking as well. It doesn't make sense that he would fall that far if he didn't state that he wanted to attend school. Paul must have felt as though he was only using LSU for leverage and decided to tell him to walk.
No advantage to the kid to be released right now. He just lost almost all of his leverage

If turang comes Hughes is on the bench. You aren’t benching broussard. The hope is Broussard never fully recovered from his injury and that caused his issues. But either way he is a good 2b and has speed. Left side is turang and smith. Lots of ifs. Biggest is turang coming. Followed by smith getting g fully healthy.

My guess is guy didn’t have a guaranteed starting spot with Watson Duplantis coming back.

I bet you didn’t know their salary pool is 6.6 million. His slot value is 3.3. If you think he’s getting that much money you’re crazy. So don’t talk shite before you know the facts.

Here's where we are:
Gone as of today,
Kodros
Webre
Sanders
Feduccia
Slaughter
Petersen
Nowak
Bush
Doughty
There's still more shuffling depending on incoming class.

If I am 100% certain of anything it's that the scenario you just spelled out will never happen. If Turang comes he's your starting shortstop day one. Smith is your 3b and Broussard remains at second. No way in hell does Smith ever play 2nd base
