This is what I got now:
By my count for 2018-2019 roster Draft outlook:
- Turang drafted in 1st round, expected to sign
- Kelly drafted in 8th round, expected to sign
- Bush drafted in 8th round, expected to sign
- Sanders drafted in 12th round, expected to sign
- Feduccia drafted in 12th round, expected to sign
- Cabell drafted in 14th round, expected to sign, released from LOI
- Slaughter drafted 18th round, expected to sign
- Duplantis drafted 19th round, returning to school for senior year
- DiGiacomo drafted 29th round, Coming to LSU
- Hess drafted 34th round, returning to school for junior year
- McMurray drafted 37th round, Coming to LSU
- Marceaux drafted 37th round, Coming to LSU
- Henry drafted 38th round, Coming to LSU
- Hill drafted 38th round, Coming to LSU
- Willis drafted 39th round, Coming to LSU
- Watson drafted 40th round, returning to school for junior year
Roster processing
- Nick Webre is transferring
- Taylor Petersen no longer on team
Current Roster Outlook:
(1) SR. OF Antoine Duplantis
(2) SR. INF Brandt Broussard
(3) SR. INF Chris Reid
(4) SR. INF Bryce Jordan
(5) SR. RHP Clay Moffitt
(6) SR. RHP Caleb Gilbert
(7) SR. LHP Brandon Nowak
(8) JR. INF Josh Smith

(20) SO. RHP Devin Fontenot
(21) SO. RHP Trent Vietmeier

(36) FR. OF Andrew Lee
(37) FR. INF Gavin Dugas
(38) FR. OF Giovanni DiGiacomo
(39) FR. C CJ Willis
(40) FR. 1B Cade Beloso
Now only 5 spots over limit, there could be another member of the recruiting class, LHP Erik Tolman, but nothing definitely confirmed on that.
I know other names have been thrown around as to who may not be on the team next season, but Webre and Petersen seem to be the only definitely confirmed players leaving the team (Who were not drafted). As confirmation comes in other players are leaving, similar to Webre and Petersen, I will then take them off the expected roster list.

You're spot on with the numbers.
We're going to have to get rid of a few more pitchers. We currently have 23 (only 2 lefties) of them. We're also trying to make room for Tolman, the lefty.
We have 17 position players. We might actually be rolling with those guys. Since Slaughter, Webre, Feduccia, & Cabell aren't coming here...predicting the position players is much easier. I can't really see us getting rid of more than 1 player. If I had to guess...either Doughty or Reid, but we could be done here. Bryce Jordan could decide to hang it up as well.

What’s Turang family situation? Obvisoulsy they aren’t poor considering he’s willing to walk out on $3M.

Damn we losing 3 committed players. Figured it would only be one.

Sometimes it's not a matter of how rich or poor you are but if you truly believe you have a number that a team isnt willing to meet you may be better off going to school and improving upon that. For instance, if Turang really believes he should get $3.6M, but the Brewers can only offer slot of $3M, he could come to school, move up the draft some, and get that $3.6M-$4M maybe. The question is that 3 (or 2 if 21 rule applies) years worth the extra $600k-$1M to him. If it is, then come to school, if not, then take the $3M. A lot of guys back out on a 3 year commitment because they feel like they can go to JUCO for a year maybe 2 and get that number they want, which I totally get. All about your perceived view of the time value of money.
Bryce Harper is kind of the ultimate "born and bred for early money". The dude got his GED after sophomore year of high school in the fall of 2009, enrolled in a JUCO for spring of 2010 (Wood bat league) played a few months there, then got drafted in summer 2010 #1 overall and got $10M ($6.25M bonus).

Turang's price tag apparently is now first half of round 1 which is about 3.6 million.
Did new information come out after PM was on the radio?
PM said he believed the number was a bit north of 4MM.

This glimmer of hope always happens, and the 1st rounder always signs.

I remember when I got Slaughtered for saying Slaughter is gone. You all owe me a apology
Posted on 6/8/18 at 8:13 am to PhillyTiger90
The only way I can see us getting rid of Kodros is if we replace him with Erik Tolman. Personally, I'd like to keep Kodros no matter what.
I'll be very confused if Reese & Nowack aren't let go. Vietmeier has some potential, but we don't need 20 right hand arms.

Mainieri was quoted that it’s not as high as 5 million.
The number has to be slightly over 4 million if I had to guess (what he and his advisor are letting be known), Mainieri also said no prelim deal was worked out beforehand. What this means is Milwaukee drafted on best available.
My gut tells me Turang cares more about being drafted higher than the actual money. What LSU has in their favor if anything is Brice’s confiedence in himself, he wanted to be a top 10-15 draft pick or be shown that he is in bonus terms which would be well over the slotted 3 million.
The fact that he’s been in constant contact with Mainieri this week and is good friends with Landon Marceaux is just twisting at the gut of LSU fans not wanting to get their hopes up.
Did Mainieri release Cabell as a sacrificial lamb to the Brewers to help “ease” signability concerns of another highly ranked prospect?
So many hypotheticals...buckle up Baton Rouge.

I keep telling myself that Turang is going to sign because I don't want to be disappointed. But man if he makes it to campus...

So have I. I'd rather be surprised with joy than severely disappointed.

To those that know the ins and outs of the mlb, when will the teams start inking deals. Will the Brewers work on Turang first, or if they feel there is a signability concern with they try to sign their other picks and see what else they can throw at him?
Posted on 6/8/18 at 8:24 am to GMoney2600
I still think he signs but it’s going to take a perfect organization of underslotting of multiple high school players
Posted on 6/8/18 at 8:25 am to UpToPar
They will have a lot of guys working on deals at the same time. They may get the deals done with the two top 10 round seniors first and then see where they stand with their pool.
Then, I imagine they'll try to hammer out any other underslot deals they agreed to before the picks happened.

Thunderbird, thanks for compiling that list. You can change Duplantis to will return to LSU. He turned down 7th round pick opportunity at 200,000 per Mainieri

I think we need to keep Kodros around, even if we add Tolman. We should have a few lefties kept around.
I'm not saying who I want to stay or go here, but if I had to rank the lesser pitched guys being talked about here, I would say:
1. Kodros
2. Vietmeier
3. Nowak
4. Moffitt
5. Reese
Kodros and Vietmeier both have good stuff, and were just freshmen, biggest thing to work on is control probably on both. Kodoros especially from the left side, think he was a 2x 1st team all american in high school and played 6A Texas ball. Both those guys have really solid frames and good potential.
