re: The most underrated moment from The Office

I recently watched these auditions for The Office. They guy who plays Kevin uses his regular voice in the audition. It's pretty weird.
It amazing how different that guy (Brian Baumgarter?) sounds and LOOKS in real life compared to Kevin. The dimbulb voice is the main thing, but the rubber faced expressions and the hair over his ears really changes the way he looks. I don't know if it's just the dumpy clothes Kevin wears or if the costumers add some padding, but he looks fatter as Kevin than he does IRL. He's a big guy, but isn't nearly as sloppy looking as Kevin.

The sweat he gets on his upper lip is so disgusting. It may be some water added as a prop, but it's nasty AF to me. It's like he sweats just reaching to get m&m's out of his jar.

It always cracked me up when Michael gave the speech to Ryan’s business class. He tears up one kids text book then starts throwing candy at the students.

Kevin is frequently sweaty. I hope that's make up because if it isn't, it could be tough on an actor's career.
I wonder what those secondary characters got paid. Some of them barely had any lines the first few seasons. As the show ran longer, their characters became more developed, probably out of necessity. Michael could only do so much stupid shite.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet...
Jim virtually raping Pam in Dwight's dojo.
"Put me down! Put me down! Hey!"
Jim was definitely about to rape her before he regained control of himself and remembered other people were there. If they had been alone, Pam gets raped.

If you want truly underrated, it’s Gabe’s storyline of being obsessed with horror movies.
When he corners Andy in the bathroom and says he’s seen over 200 horror movies.
Then the Halloween episode where they play a disturbing movie he made. Then these lines:
Andy: What’s the story?
Oscar: There is no story.
Gabe: Yeah it seems like there isn’t a narrative. [on screen a man gets into a car] Maybe the filmmaker realized that even narrative is comforting.

Damn! Dude hit it out the park.
Another interesting tidbit about him. Remember the episode where Jim tries to close the deal with a client on the golf course while Kevin cleans up in the golf betting games? Well, according to Wikipedia the actor is an accomplished golfer himself.

Not an underrated moment but I had forgotten that Erin’s real name was Kelly but was changed due to conflict with the other Kelly.

Why did Pam go for such a beta as Jim? Just watching S1 last night with the Alliance when Roy comes in when Jim is getting all touchy with Pam and Jim about pees himself and starts backing away and muttering trying to blame it on Dwight. What a coward.

Don't know why, but every time Michael mispronounces something always made me crack up.
I had a friend as a kid that always did this. He tried to use big words, but wasn't very smart.
My favorite was when he was talking about beer or coffee, and called it a "required taste"

michael: real business, is done on paper. ok? write that down
(camera pans to an entire class taking note of what he said on their computers)

He had a pretty nice looking basketball shot too. After the game in the warehouse, when Michael wouldn't let Kevin play, he goes out there and drains one 3 after another

Michael gets a Christmas tree that's way too tall for the office and when Kevin cuts the top off he asks Michael what they're going to do with the cut off part. Michael says "we're going to sell that to charity. That's what Christmas is all about."

Just watched the play episode again. Creed standing outside the play calling in a review

I love how "the plumber" knows it was Michael that was the one person that was booing him. Andy and his phone was so cringe worthy. One of the most awkward moments in the series IMO.

Another great part of the show was Michael's obsession with Ryan.
quote:
Ryan: Jim's been looking at me kind of a lot all week. I would be creeped out by it, but it's nothing compared to the way Michael looks at me.
