I am thinking kidney stone. I had my first one just over a year ago. Started out on a Sunday afternoon with what I thought was a muscle ache on my right side. Got worse throughout the evening/night. Didn't sleep a wink because every time I moved it felt like I was getting stabbed. My first thought was appendix.
Went to an urgent care center, they said it seemed more like a stone because it didn't respond like appendicitis would, but they couldn't rule it out. Sent me to the ER for CT scan and they diagnosed kidney stone.
ETA: I didn't have the shivering though, so not sure if that is common with kidney stones or not.

Sounds like pleurisy...
Also called pleuritis, pleurisy causes sharp chest pain (pleuritic pain) that worsens during breathing.

Gall bladder pain is substernal that radiates to your back, and kidney stone pain is in your back flank...

It's going around. I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago. It happened to a family friend last week sending her to the hospital and happened to my wife this week. Seems to be some sort of Virus.
It happens at night for some reason. I spent most of the next day throwing up and was off of work for two days because of it.

I can tell you from personal experience that gall bladder pain can be deceiving, I think your brain plays tricks on you.. For me it seemed to be more in the front but definately lower right abdominal area. Had a quarter sized gall stone and a diseased gall bladder. Had several attacks that were debilitating but went away quickly.
Finally went in to have it checked out when the low grade pain was continuous. OP should see a doctor.
I was really just spitballing for the OP.

I had diverticulitis.
It sucks dick, but easily fixed. Chew your food and don't eat seeds or nuts.

Possibly Costocondritis. Take Ibuprofen. Could be better in a few days to a week or two. If it's really bad today though, go to a doctor to make sure. A shot might really help too.

I think I had a kidney stone maybe 6 years back. It hurt from the front to the back from under my ribs to my belt line. Worst pain ever. Definitely felt like I was gonna die. Couldn't stand up or lay down. Just had to lean over the sofa for like 20 minutes.
I called my dad and told him if I didn't text something every 5 minutes to call 911. It went away after a while, but still hurt for maybe 12 hours. Never pissed anything out

Does the rim of your anus hurt? If so.........................then you know!
On a serious note, monitor your symptoms and call the docs office to describe them if they don’t subside. I’ve been around a loooong time and often times things like this just go away.
