Hunters use shotguns and small and big game rifles
Handguns are good for concealed personal protection

For military use. Good thing pretty much only the military uses them.

To prevent a Tyrannical Government from taking power from the people.

Better question, what makes a gun an ‘assault rifle’?
Posted on 2/28/18 at 6:44 pm to John Milner
Hunting, target shooting, personal protection, and to keep potential government tyranny at bay.

Advantage of firepower vs handgun or shotgun.
Like 5 men.
No need/demand for accuracy.
Shooting people and threatening to shoot people are the main points.
Defending my home and family vs people with handguns.

What makes a rifle an assault rifle?
Why do people want to simply hand over their freedoms?

What is the purpose of any choice? Preference? Freedom ?

Home protection, hog hunting, target practice, keeping oppressive regimes at bay, Armageddon, zombie apocalypse.
Next question?

For some reason people aren't grasping the fact that AR's ARE NOT ASSAULT RIFLES

I do not own an assault rifle.
I own probably 5 or 6 guns you would consider to be assault rifles.
One is a 12 gauge.
What is the practical application of a magazine fed 12 gauge? It makes a great home defense weapon. But it's also quite fun to shoot.
What is the point of an AR-15? They are great training guns for those getting into shooting. It's a very small round. So very little recoil. Ergonomics are pretty good as well. So it's comfortable. As for 30 round mags, they are convenient for shooting at the range. They offer a large amount of rounds for home defense. In a caliber that is very small. Loaded with varmint rounds, overpenetration is a non issue.
Just a good style of gun to have.
