Even in 40 years the AP, UPI, and Coaches Poll will be the legitimate polls prior to the playoff years

This is big boy football

LOL. That always sounds so middle school, but since Kiffin has been at Ole Miss they have bigger boyed LSU 3 of the last 5 games
I think the majority of Alabama fans mostly like OU. I think we have a lot in common.

I dont think we lose half the game we lost last year if Milroe wasn’t the quarterback. He gift wrapped OU and Michigan.
He looks like a pretty good coach to me that may need to replace a few assistants. I think the days of firing decent coaches in the middle of the season, with a 50+ million buyout are mostly over since you have to pay 20+ million for players every year, plus hiring a new staff. OU has been patient with Venables. Makes sense to me.

Though A&M appears to be the best I don’t think there is a great team in the SEC this year.
Though Alabama moved the ball consistently passing, you have to give credit to the OU defense for causing the turnovers, and they made some clutch plays when they absolutely had to. The offense apparently still struggles because Alabama defense is decent, but generally not good enough to mostly shut down offenses.

Edit to note their kicker is wayy better than Alabama’s.

Alabama got lucky with Saban

Any team would have been lucky to get the greatest coach of all time for 17 years, but that aside , even before Saban, Alabama won more games, more SEC games, more SEC titles, and more national titles than any other team. For that matter it’s a great bet that the history had some part in Saban’s choice to come to UA.

Lincoln wanted no part of LSU

I distinctly remember LSU fans proclaiming “SEC scared of Riley”
I guess because he is old

The fan base collectives are a piddling percentage of booster funds.

That’s ridiculous. That a great many LSU fans think they will get Saban easily qualifies them as most delusional.

would almost agree if not for transfer rule and NIL…. kids will not pay attention to this…. Kids want to play and get paid plain and simple.

The problem here is that if LSU doesn’t have the money to pay the contracted terms to the fired coach do they have the money to pay NIL, and will they renege like they did with that coach ?
If he ever had a lick of sense he lost it

Good luck hiring the next guy if this is what the state will go through to not pay out a contract.

Not a problem if the coach you hire knows he won’t need a contract buyout

Is LSU going bankrupt?
Hmm. Could it be that paying 50 million or whatever to Kelly, and tens of millions more to the next staff is going to seriously impact the “NIL” to compete in the SEC?

That would suck.
