Are you referring to It Terror from Beyond Space that I posted earlier? If so, and given the fact that it destroyed your childhood, there are amazing psychological depths to be plumbed! What say you, weakling?,

No, I’m saying ET was the third film I saw.

That’s interesting because I never saw ET as scary. I cried a lot when he “died” at the end.

Of course I might have been older then.

My Dad took me to The Lost World when I was 5(?) and that scared the mess out of me.

Jaws also planted a strong subconscious seed of fear for anytime I'm in any kind of body of water where I can't see the bottom.

My parents are not fans of horror for the most part so I never really watched scary movies until HS (although I still don't really enjoy the genre).

This movie bar none. I used to sleep with the covers around my neck for a few years after watching Salem's Lot. Plus the vampire kid scratching at the window in your gif freaked me the f out. Although I still watched it everytime it was on back then.
They actually showed this during gym class in Jr. High back in the day towards the end of the year. Parents would flip the f out now if they did that.

Forgot about Phantasm. Definitely in my top 2 as well. The tall man. The cemetery. The little Jawa's. That was scary AF back in the day.

I'll throw the original Faces of Death out there as well. Probably shouldn't have watched that when I was 7 or 8 years old.

There was an episode of Twighlight Zone that messed me up for a good while. I can't remember all the details as I have tried to forget, but essentially one person from a family gets chosen on a certain night to be sacrificed/eaten by some kind of monster. It was an episode shown in the 90s. It wasn't really graphic, just the idea really messed with me.

As far as movies, IT and Pet Semetary.
