Horrible idea. I can think of no useful purpose for it. It's a waste of money. And, speaking for those who will be stuck marching in it, I can guarantee you that 90% of them would rather dig their eyes out with a spoon.

It is a horrible idea. One can like Trump and still disagree with some of his decisions. I mean, it's not like we are liberals and have to follow marching orders.

Awful idea.

We are America. We don't need military parades like the North Koreans and the French.

It’s a bad idea in a vacuum...but when you consider progs are going to way overreact and lose their shite...I’d say it’s a good idea

Anything that pushes the media and democrats into showing people who they are and what they’re really about is a good idea

But even THAT is a bad idea. Unnecessary distraction. Bad imagery. Etc

I mean I don’t disagree but when the left says it’s stupid and trump says HAHA I WASNT ACTUALLY GONNA DO IT and people start praising his troll he thinks it’s a good thing.

Admittedly, if he does the parade, it's a fair bet that a bunch of liberals will publicly behave in a manner that makes them look like shite.

this has nothing to do with trump or any political party or a photo opt. its a way to say thank you to our military. it has been suggested they might do it annually each year on veterans day.

the parade is a way to honor and celebrate the military for all they do for us. a day to come out and thank and cheer them for the sacrifice they make to keep us all safe

anyone who cant get behind supporting and celebrating our military can just go frick themselves

I'm going to help you out here.

I was in the military. And, if you asked any random group of 100 Soldiers, 99 would say, "ya wanna thank me?............well, we can start by not ADDING work to me.........making me travel to DC away from my family........and marching 5 miles...........a 4 day weekend is thanks enough".

This is a huge problem with some of y’all. The over dramatic conclusions you jump to is insane. America isn’t the best at math? YOU HATE AMERICA. Saying hold on claiming the Vegas shooter was Muslim until the facts come out? YOURE KNIGHTING FOR ISIS!! Saying this parade is a dumb idea? YOU HATE THE MILITARY.

I know you don’t have any middle of the road opinions and neither does anyone you know, but in reality there are people that can disagree and not be the other extreme.

Seems like a sort of silly idea to me too, but knowing this to be an absolute fact (it is - they can't help themselves), it's almost illogical for him from a purely political perspective NOT to do such a thing.

If $1,000 is a crumb, I mean I can only imagine they’ll discredit themselves with hitler and North Korea comparison but also throw in a talking point that makes them look like they hate America or voters. This happens every time.

The TDS prevents them from rational responses to trump especially when he does something unusual

Not morally opposed to it. There is a tradition for it.

Quote:
Although John Adams was the first president to occupy the executive mansion, it was Thomas Jefferson who established the traditions of a July 4th celebration at the White House or President's House as it was called in his time. Jefferson opened the house and greeted the people along with diplomats, civil and military officers, and Cherokee chiefs in the center of the oval saloon under Gilbert Stuart's famous portrait of George Washington. Jefferson also added music to the celebration. The Marine Band, already "The President's Own," played in the Entrance Hall performing "The President's March" and other "patriotic airs."

The north grounds of the President's Park—the "common"—came alive at daybreak with the raising of tents and booths, soon followed by crowds of people. A festival took place just for the day. Food and drink and cottage goods of all types were sold. There were horse races and cockfights and parades of the Washington Militia and other military companies. End quote. whitehousehistory.org

Notice Marine Band, Washington Militia and other military companies parading.

But it appears that the majority is against it, and he is now a politician. It won’t happen unless public perception changes.

Why should the Germans get the good stuff.

That’s exactly why he’s doing it. It’s about him. He’ll him and has about its to respect the military, but even soldiers here are saying it’ll be a buncha work and they don’t want to do it.

Yeah, lets not kid ourselves that the troops want to do this. They haven't just returned from storming the beaches of Iwo Jima and that there are going to be thousands of hot chicks waiting to blow them. This is about his ego, and Trump seems to admire some things ruthless dictators have done to boost their ego.
