Are these mushrooms edible?

Or will I die?
Picked them off an oak stump around New Iberia. My research looks like they are armillaria and good to eat, but I want to make sure.

Why do people risk stupid shite like this? Go to Walmart, get some Portobello mushrooms, throw them on the grill, top with marinara and mozzarella, eat.

This is a really good way to kill yourself.

My dad could have told you, but he's gone now. RIP Dad. He used to know which ones were good to eat. I would not even attempt to eat those, but that's just me.

First, you make a roux.
Seriously-if you have to ask the answer is no.

Armillaria tabescens
You won't die but they are pretty bitter. I would pass on these.

me personally i would never do this..
here is a fun story. Guy at my church years ago was making spaghetti for him and his mom. Picked some shrooms for it. Well shortly after eating they both realized something was wrong. They immediately called poison number and described the shrooms they ate. He then realized he made a grave mistake and that he had cooked and fed not only himself but his mother a deadly mushroom. The people on the line told them there is absolutely nothing they can do now, but sit and wait and hope they didnt consume enough. He said that he was so upset he had even tried this that he just knew he had killed his mother and himself. He said after several hours of intense pain and stress it all passed and they both lived.. never again he said.
so if you do try that.. be 1000000000% sure

As far as I know, there is no poisonous mushroom that grows in our area that will straight up kill you. Give you stomach pains, make you trip, yes, but there are no deadly mushrooms.

In Louisiana, the easiest to identify edible mushroom is the oyster mushroom (very tasty, even in the field). As previously mentioned, it mostly grows on willows or oaks that are dead or dying. The visible part of this mushroom grows horizontally on the tree regardless if the tree is standing or fallen.
If interested in edible plants in Louisiana (I know mushrooms are not a plant), Dr. Charles Allen has interactive workshops via multiple agencies/ngos throughout the state on a monthly basis. He also has a BnB in central Louisiana that caters to native and edible plant enthusiasts.

Found this about a month ago along the fence line in my backyard (keep in mind nearest neighbor is like a mile away):
That's 4 clumps of 3 different types along the outside, there were 3 more inside the hollow center of the stump of at least 2 different types.

These are not chanterelles. They do not grow on logs/trees. Next time it would help if you could take a few pictures before they were picked. To be safe, do not eat.

For comparison, some chanterelles picked from this past spring.
