That's exactly my point here. Everyone kept throwing these big time head coaches that wanted the job. Jimbo and Herman used us to fatten their pockets after acting like they were going to take the job. Jimbo has done this twice now. The whole season was a mess with rumors and at the end Coach O got the job.

Nope. Ed O is not rebuilding so good so far.

This. And I don't see a whole lot of other names in this thread.

You must know something that no other program does because there are tons of coaches that get interviewed every year and O is not one of them. Hell, even Canada gets interviews.

The freaking guy admitted handcuffing Canada. So by that measure just about any other hire

Justin Fuente and Dan Mullen have this team at 6-0 right now

Problem is you don't have to be big time to be better than O.
As a fan I hope it works out, but it's a lazy long shot by Joe.
Surely you see this.

Maybe he did that.

He didn't. Alleva thought he had a slam dunk with Jimbo, but Jimbo played Alleva to drag more $$$$ out of FSU. Herman was plan B, but when that fell through he didn't have a plan C.

It's done and over, so I can't figure why certain people are constantly asking why all the "hate". I don't see much in the way of hate, but that's just my perception.

Well, there you have it. A hypothetical other coach wouldn't be any better than Orgeron, in your opinion. I don't see how anyone could argue with that.

It's sickening that people actually believe this.

You can live in a world where LSU just ignored tons of "interested" coaches or you can accept the truth, which is that any coach qualified for the role was put off by the situation from top to bottom. This isn't opinion. It's fact.

Ed Orgeron is not in any way qualified for the position of head coach at LSU, and he was only given the job because he had enough support to cover up the fact that there weren't other interested options on the table.

Les Miles would have this team playing better.

We've lost to Miss St and Troy

You don't think any coach could have beaten those 2 teams?

Care to explain how that's a fact? Or do you just use that word loosely?

I have a really hard time believing there wasn't a single "qualified" head coach interested in the LSU job.

People have turned this into such a pro or anti Orgeron situation, that there is no honesty about the talent deficit LSU has.

Orgeron sucks. I agree.

LSU talent is also the worst it's been probably in 15+ years.

Let the downvotes rain, but Miles would've had this team in a helluva better position right now. Not saying he's the option everyone here wanted, but Saban ain't coming back, and now we're stuck with a $12 million buyout for Zero the YawYaw Cajun.

No way a Miles team loses by 30 to Moo State and to Troy at homecoming. During his tenure, Miles won, on average, more than ten games per season over his eleven full seasons as head coach. Alleva was stupid stupid stupid to fire Miles without a top-caliber replacement candidate already locked down. Just a hint: 0 ain't that candidate.

OK. Now that you've established that, let's bring in a guy who can fix it. And you already agree that Ed O will not. So what are we talking about here?

You see, all of you guys worrying about whether we have talent or not are just wasting your time.

Whether the problem is preparation, game managing, recruiting, talent evaluation, whatever. ED O IS NOT THE GUY TO FIX IT. So why even bother with the argument.

No matter what the problem is, Ed can not fix it. So he has to go. Stop the fighting.

Unfortunately I don't think LSU will fire him until after next season, at the earliest.

I agree. But that doesn't give him a free pass to screw up in the meantime. He's going to hear about it. That's how it works.

ETA: I do think it's possible he's out after this season, but it will mean a lot of losses. I don't think we'll get them because the SEC is terrible as well right now. But my goal is not to lose games and I still want to win every game despite how much I want O gone.
