He can sling it... He just doesn't unless it's to overthrow wide open receivers by 10 yards.

Why TF did we even do this tonight? Was it worth the taxpayer dollars for what we got?

Because Louisiana is full of fricking morons. No, it wasn't. It was a waste of taxpayer dollars
The kid has a cannon for an arm and confidence, but he has fricking rocks for brains and falls for the most simple baits. It's wild to see the dude that was clamored for have the QB IQ of a kid on Madden.
Glove didn't fit. Also, how come they never found Pac and Big's murderers, but they arrested OJ the next day? Nicole Simpson can't rap! I want answers!

But in the context of the actual post, what wild times we live in.
Flynn and Mauck over Daniels is nasty work. A title doesn't mean shite when ranking QBs. If Daniels has any of the defenses that the guys he put above them, we have another blowout season and play for a title.
Because they don't actually watch football or know the stats. He was great his freshman year. Second year was a Covid year. He didn't have much to work with the latter years there, either. He came in needing to build his confidence back up, similar to Joe.
This is a dumb thread, especially considering the fact that if JD5 couldn't win with this defense, there isn't a QB1 in the country who could. Dude gave us the best offense in the country with insane QB efficiency, and we lost 3 games. JD5's name is going to be in Tiger Stadium as a Heisman winner. That's special.

The fact that we had another "lightning in a bottle" offense but the defense was so bad that we had several losses is enough to fire multiple people. This is LSU. We call ourselves DBU for god's sake. Bummer.

Yes sir! I'm really happy for the kid, especially after the shite he took last year and how he elevated his game.

LSU - Burrow against OU but this is very much #2

FBS - Mahonmes had like 800+ yards at Texas Tech

Yeah, that's how I feel 100%. It's not the best but a contender for it for sure.
Anyone who says it's not a contender is biased.

Poor dude is a good coach

Head coach? Nah, not even a little bit. The roster has talent that should be able to move the ball.

Dude should have been fired. Allen is a trash arse head coach, too. It makes it miserable to watch a team I loved even when we sucked and Turley was flinging helmets. I can take a shitty team, but god damn, this sucks.
I agree 100%. Doesn't matter how much talent you have when the whole coaching staff fricking sucks.
Right? I tweeted that he looks like he got fricking eyeliner on.

re: So which QB should we draft?

Honestly, if we could get Jayden Daniels, I'd take him. Dude isn't a deep ball guy, but he can at least move the ball and run the offense down late.
If he can hit a wide open receiver in the endzone? Yeah, it opens up the run game.
Kamara's biggest asset was a strong passing game. Carr not being able to hit a wide open receiver allows them to focus on Kamara out of the backfield.
Next drive would be nice, honestly. There's no way Carr is winning this game playing like this.

Shaheed could have fricking set up a campfire and cooked a meal in the endzone with that much time and space, and he had to try to super soldier a catch to have a chance because the pass fricking sucked.

As usual you’re lying and race baiting. JRuss was loved from the first pass he threw in his first spring game.

You clearly weren't here. The Rant wanted Flynn over Jamarcus nonstop.

Are turnovers the only thing keeping him from starting?

No, but they play a big role. I like the kid, and he has a great arm. But for all the shite that JD gets for his football IQ, Nuss has the same issues in different areas.

JD is too dependent on running and doesn't make throws he isn't completely confident in, but he's mobile and efficient when it comes to turnovers at the very least. Nuss is the opposite. He's going to sit there and force a throw or put up a jump ball that isn't there.

Like I said, I like him, and I'm not slandering his talent. He's got a fricking cannon and a lot of confidence in his arm, but turnovers are a huge deal. Even more of an issue is WHY he's a turnover machine. That's what keeps him from starting. He can't move, he forces throws regardless of the situation, and that just won't ever work in the SEC.

Joe Burrow and other great QBs in the SEC who could sling it in that fashion have all been inherently smart when it comes to reads and situational decision making. Nuss just doesn't have that.

People hated the vuvuzelas but the 2010 World Cup is my #1. I thought they added to the atmosphere. That was a magical World Cup.

The allure of the World Cup is the atmosphere and passion. Vuvuzelas were a little annoying, but you can't question the atmosphere and passion of that World Cup. It FELT big.

As for this match, the little maestro is going to do what he does. Get them deep into the tournament without winning it.

Tough draw, but still in a great spot. I see promotion on the horizon.
But that's what he's saying. You attack the flanks and pull the CBs that direction with a central run or run from the opposite flank. The space and time they had to make the passes they scored on was far too much for a World Cup level match. That's what he means. Attack the flanks to open up your lanes and exploit that.

This was a shite-the-bed moment. This was a big stage for a young group, and they played like a young group who'd never been there before.

Pretty solid take on it. I can forgive Pulisic for a mishit based on his play otherwise. Tim and Haji legit just spazzed out in a way that shouldn't happen at this level. Zimmerman out there thinking he's fricking Pele with the overhead attempt had me laughing my arse off.
quote:

LvG gave him a lesson today as he knew exactly what to do with us and Gregg would have no real answers

LvG has competed at the highest levels as a manager. He read the situation like a book, and they attacked the weaknesses. Gregg could have adapted or realized what we all saw, but he didn't. It's his biggest issue. He manages the way the US used to play before we had players like Pulisic, McKennie, etc. who know they're meant to be there.

He's just not the manager I want to see with control of this particular group of players. They're young, fearless, and hungry, and he manages in a way that just doesn't fit that.
He's not wrong. They essentially just counted on our CB pairing to shift towards the man with the ball on the wing and create a lane. Matt plays across to keep the far post shot out, and they slot it across him.

They ate us alive on those mistakes. Adams let a free runner by, but frankly, the CBs just played it poorly. Ream was even screaming at Zimmerman after the second.
