I think me and my family will make it out of this unscathed, and we are ready to provide whatever financial and labor assistance we can. We all have many coworkers who have lost everything in the DS and Oneal area.

My girlfriend lives on Bowman by the animal shelter. She has lost everything. Two cars, everything in the house, everything at her place of business in the antique village. She and her sister were rescued with water in the house yesterday morning around four AM. We are all devastated. In shock really.

Prayers to you and your family Nurse. Moms car was 12 years old so no comp coverage. I think they had rental insurance so the contents of their house should be covered. But, it'll be awhile before insurance can pay out, so we'll be doing what we can to help out.

My home is on River Road as well. From what I can tell we have 12 ft of water. Water to the attic.

Brother , mom and I all live in different parts of Northwoods in central, if anyone has info on that area would love to hear it.

I live in Northwoods on Holly Hock. If you are a member of the Nextdoor Northwoods site, people are posting pictures and updates there, although the updates are coming slower because AT&T network is offline. There is also a Northwoods facebook group you'd need to request access to. If you send me your info I may be able to invite you to the nextdoor.com page -- ILikeLSUToo@gmail.

Otherwise, tell me what parts of the neighboorhood yall live in and I can relay some information to you.

Last I checked, most areas of the neighborhood are passable, including the entrance at durmast (not 100% confirmed on how high the water is, so it may not be passable by car). My area east of Sugar Pine is apparently not yet passable.

With the popularity of gofundme....I would suggest anyone that is facing a total loss consider having a friend or family member start one. They could post it on their fb and people from all over could donate if they wanted to.

When my parents lost their home in a fire...I had many people out in AZ, that didn't even know my family, that reached out to me with visa gift cards, clothing donations, etc. I had to check a couple extra suitcases when I came home from all the stuff people gave to give to my parents.

Lesson learned from that....people want to help out total strangers any way they can.

Hey, 919, if you're in any position to do so, we can try to coordinate and get a school out here to adopt yours. Email me at shutterspeedtd@gmail.com.

just drove out to where my store is, or tried to anyway.... i was in a 4x4 and the water was too deep for me to go any further, but seeing some of the houses inundated really got to me... i got pretty emotional, then very thankful that it wasn't me...

i feel for all of you that did lose some stuff... i'm not gonna say "well, it can be replaced" because it's just cliche... i'm just gonna say, i feel for you... i truly do

Hey Nurse. My sister called someone yesterday who posted that our parents needed help and she was getting calls and Facebook messages all day yesterday checking on them.

I posted on the OB and guys here went into action helping us save our parents. It really is amazing seeing how much people are willing to help when they can.

We're going to try and bring my parents out here with us. We'll be flying back to help them with clean up as soon as we can get back. We want to get everything out of the house and see if anything can be salvaged.

Just heartbreaking. Still getting word from my sister's friends who are needing to be evacuated now.

Prayers to all of you experiencing loss today. One of my friends rents a townhome from me off Antioch and he had to evacuate last night. Still not sure how much damage. Thankfully I do have flood insurance.

Sad stories. Not in LA but was watching the radar and kept asking myself why the storm was literally completely stationary for so long. Hope things return better than before.

When I was a child my parents lost everything in a hurricane. It's awful but things definitely can and will be replaced.

Live in Denham, across from North Park. We have lost contents in garage, but nothing else. But multiple friends has lost homes, cars, everything. Lived in Denham most of my life and hate watching what is happening to my community.
