Didn't realize Tech was on a Friday again. Hopefully this isn't an annual thing...

Not only do we have a lot of UGA alum in the field tomorrow, we have a 17 year old UGA commit, Mason Howell, from the great small town of Thomasville, GA playing in the US Open tomorrow. Hope the kid plays well!

The 17 year old that qualified is from my small hometown. I'm sure he'll go +13 tomorrow but it's very exciting!

quote:Theres no way the average sports fan can't name a team or two. Off the top of my head I can think of the Liberty, Fever, Dream, Aces, and Storm (last one only because their whole team was on a flight with me years ago)
I've asked at least a dozen guys at my gym over the last few years: Can you name a WNBA team? Not the city, but the actual mascot of the team like 'Tigers'? Not one guy has been able to name one. I can't.

I don't know if I've ever seen 5 straight walks in the 9th
Going to be in Fenway tomorrow I'm pumped

I don't follow this stuff at all but shocked they picked an American

Pistons went 2-1 at the Garden. Very reasonable the Celtics can win there lol

Not putting money either way.
If the Knicks win G3, I'll consider a bet on the Celtics if the odds are like +1000 or higher

I've definitely seen that in high school or even college but for a pro team that's awful

I just hedged my massive disappointment and put $5 on Patrick Reed at +8000

It's the passing lane. Unless you're actively passing cars in the middle lane get the frick over.

re: Do you get as excited about the Masters as you did 20 or so years ago?

I do.
My interest in pro golf is at an all time low but I'll always watch the Masters religiously

Dude had 4 straight years of over .500 OBP. He was intentionally walked 120 times in a season. There will never be another prime like that.
Of course he's a cheating PoS and a huge douche. 755 is real

re: What’s your biggest choke moment in sports/life?

Senior year high school soccer in the state semis I got completely burned on a through ball and my guy scored the only goal of the game on a breakaway.
Once every few years I'll think about it and it'll bother me. Thanks.

re: College all star team vs MLB team
Posted by tween the hedges on 4/7/25 at 10:00 am
quote:This is true. There is a 0% chance an NFL team would lose, maybe a 2% chance a NBA team would lose, and I know nothing about hockey but seeing how lobsided international matches end like 9-0 I don't think that's happening either.
It's probably the only scenario where a college team from any sport could beat their pro equivalents.
With baseball, if you catch a team on an off night midseason after they haven't had a day off in 3 weeks and you have a pitcher who's hot and batted balls just aren't dropping, you'd have a chance.
I think if a team could hold up stamina wise, a college all star team would win 20-25 games in a season.

Am I the only one who liked it? The father reveal was great. Wish Lochy wouldn't have woken up so that family didn't get a happy ending

Yes. Not an all time great but anyone with a 10 year career gets in the NFLHOF
