Right. Are people willing to pay for the tickets at 2x? If they aren't the price will fall. This person can wait or find another outlet to purchase the tickets such as craigslist where you can openly negotiate a price that is mutual.

Adele >>> Celine Dion > Whitney > Mariah > Streisand

Adele tickets sold out in minutes, and sites like stubhub already have them posted 2x face value. I hope the frickers doing that get herpes.
Free market, capitalism...why do you hate America?

So, what you're saying is that demand for the tickets far exceeds the supply and the market is indicating that the face value price is far too low, as evidenced by the prices that people are willing to pay in the secondary market for them?
To combat this inefficiency in the market, scalpers pay face value up front and let the market decide what it's willing to pay for the ticket?
In return for paying a lot up front and assuming the risk that they won't be able to recoup their money, they have the opportunity to make a profit based on the inefficiencies present at face value price, and in the process provide liquidity to the market so that Yellowfin can pay the going premium to be able buy a ticket the day before the concert, if he wishes?
Interdasting.

The market price was face value
If the market price was face, there would be no arbitrage opportunities.

I tried to sell some Tool tickets a few years back but I never got any offers. This was a show that sold out in a few minutes too. Sometimes scalpers get screwed.

Sooooo, frick free enterprise? Please move to a country that doesn't allow this....your butt will be sore quickly
Free enterprise would be Adele selling them for double the price off the bat. Instead she tries to make them affordable for fans of her music then scumbags profit from it.

It's LNCHBOX, what do you expect? I don't find it surprising at all.

Country singer
I didn't look for myself on stubhub, but heard it on Nashville radio
scalpers gonna scalp. CS is a big deal in Nashville these days. Kinda like Sturgill in that he makes real country music, I guess.
