But is your neighbor a BIG BAMA hoops fan, or does he kinda pull for duke in college basketball???

I think more of a typical Bammer. Loves football. doesnt care about any other sports.

Sounds like Cowboys fans here in Houston. They try to rub it in even when they are losing.

I respect the right of anyone to be the fan of any team, no matter how mis-guided. LOL
The biggest failing I have as a grandfather of 9 is that I have a 10 year-old granddaughter who is a Bama fan, altough she is the only one in the family!
A family from Alabama moved in up here in NELa and she became fast friends with the daughter the same age. I respect her feelings. We pick at each other every chance we get. I called her BamaBeth one time and she immediately dubbed me TigerPaw.

You can admire Saban and what he did, but you can't root for him vs LSU?

Not if you're an LSU fan.

Georgia is inundated with them. I see more publicly professed BAMA fans than UGA or GATech here. Of course the two states are neighbors, but it's really crazy how many. I catch myself counting them while in traffic to pass the time . The state prestige college tags for Bama seem to be more numerous than any other college available.

It's not just Louisiana. I've seen more BAMA shirts/hats in the past 5 years then I have in the previous 20. When we were kicking their arse every year in the early 2000s they were no where to be found. Growing up, I thought nothing of bama and put them in the same realm as a Miss St or Arkansas.

Bandwagoners to the extreme, frick'em

I'll never understand the phenomenon of adopting a college team as "your" team for which you have no natural connection to, either geographic, familial, or actual attendance there. It's bizarre. Fortunately, I just don't feel like I need to take such folks seriously, at all.
