Easily.
They seem butthurt that the craft drinkers aren't more butthurt.
I thought the commercial was funny

Oh yeah, I always have that stuff available if people come over.
Honestly, for selfish reasons. I don't want to share my good beer!

Shameful.
Although I put my Jim Beam in Pappy Van Winkle bottles.

My 2012 Coors Light vintage is always appreciated by guests

The only time I have BMC in the fridge is if someone brings it over and leaves it. I'll happily buy some Canebrake or Tin Roof Amber or NOLA Blonde though if I know there will be people over that aren't big craft drinkers. Maybe they'll actually like it.

Of course, it's called insecurity.

Yeah, OK. For example Boston Brewing company or the makers of that "craft" beer Sam Adams sold 2.1 MILLION barrels of beer in 2012. Guess those three guys with beards and flannel shirts were mighty busy in that small old brick building
There is nothing wrong with whatever anyone likes to drink but the absurdness with supposedly craft beer is comical. The whole "my beer factory is smaller than your beer factory" is a result of marketing genius. Peoples desire to turn every little thing into some type of status symbol plays a part as well. Drink what you like as will I.

This is true.
I don't even really host the type of events where I provide everyone's alcohol. I'll share whatever I have (wine, champagne, etc.), but otherwise our group is more of the BYOB type.

My estimated beer tally from yesterday:
Bud Light- 18
Sweet Water 420- 8
Coors Banquet- 4
Jai Alai- 3
Lagunitias Maximus IPA- 2
Bell's THA- 2
A good Murican/maven mix. Made for a fine headache today.

Do you honestly think anyone prefers Sam Adams to Bud because of the size of the brewery?

I would't drink.
Why would I drink something that I do not like? Thats fricking retarded.

It's definitely a marketing strategy of Sam Adams to create the perception that they are more of a micro-brewery despite a national market, but if you are using them out the thousands of truly small batch micro-breweries to develop your opinion on the entire market, that is quite silly in itself.
I don't think the allure of lower production is due to some perceived "status." Again, not unlike many other markets, smaller production tends to result in higher quality due to the ability to maintain attention to the details. You would probably prefer a home cooked pot of red beans to, say, the boxed red beans produced by Zatarans, or a portion made for 1000 people. Not because you want people to think you are cool for eating "micro-beans" but because the variables are easier to control, producing a higher quality product.

Seconded. I've turned down bud light several times and drank water.
The only thing I took from the commercial is that they are losing market share. If they weren't bothered by the craft revolution, they wouldn't even have to acknowledge it.

My butt hurts from all the beer I drank. I didn't even notice the commercial, guess I was too busy discussing carbonation levels of Pliny vs Abrasive.
Then again maybe it was the wings causing the butthurt.

Plenty of good craft lager these days... Well kinda... Just saying folks now have more options than American blonde or Pale ales if they want to support local beer. I need another blonde like I need a hole in the head.
