Do you guys where helmets? I believe it is the law in LA correct? Here in the great state of Fl. Not required. I ask because i dont ride and never would because at least every week here in JAx someone is killed riding one. Have had a few friends die riding them.I understand the need to feel free and stuff but what is your motoviation? If my kids said one day i'm getting a motorcycle id be like no the hell your not!

I ride. I wear full protective gear, because I like my skin. Drivers here suck, but I'm pretty good at minding my surroundings when I ride and keep myself in favorable positions in traffic for the most part.
I ride because it's awesome. Can't really describe it, you just have to feel it for yourself.

Off road only and wearing gear. Not getting on the highway on a bike with all the texting and facebooking that takes place on the road today. They didn't watch for bikes before they had all this technology and I've seen the results of bike vs car crashes up close.

My BIL wrecked his on I-95 just N of Jax and had to be life flighted to the hospital. He said the road was being overlayed and that caused the wreck, but he was also drunk. I suspect he was drinking in the other 2 MC wrecks he was in as well. He also has the attitude that cars need to get out of his way and he drives very aggressively. He's a dumbass and I'm surprised he's still alive.
Oh and he kinda looks like Darth

Love riding!
Always wear full gear. Prepare for the slide not the ride.
Currently doing short adventure touring on a DRZ400s with my young son.
Nothing beats a motorcycle ride. (at least nothing with your clothes on)

Must be a rough ride off-road when the suspension is constantly bottomed out

I just picked up my first motorcycle last month. I enjoy riding as much as possible. I always wear helmet, pants, boots, gloves, and armored jacket. It does get hot sometimes but so is the asphalt.
I took the new rider course and like to think I ride pretty defensively and stay aware of my surroundings at all times. I'm not naive enough to think that prevents everything but I try to minimize the danger.

I bought a Harley 48. It's a Sportster that has the look of and older stripped down bike. Kind of bobber style.

My stepdad got too old for his "getting around town" bike and pretty much gave it to me. It is a Triumph Bonneville T100. He has owned Harleys his entire life, and this was his first non-Harley.
I wear glasses, helmet, jeans, and boots most of the time. Only time I go sans helmet is if I'm going right around the corner(literally within a mile @20mph limit). Any further and it gets put on.
Fun little bike to putt around on, but I definitely wouldn't drive it on a road trip

You could at least use a picture that's not 10 years old.

Been riding street since early 80's. Currently ride a 2008 Concours14. ATGATT.. even in august!
Riding a Motorcycle is like a virus... you either have it in you or you don't. It lays dormant in your system until you take your first spin. Then that MC Virus springs to life.
To those that have it... no explanation is needed... To those who don't... no explanation is sufficient..

It's never bottomed out yet, I don't ride a pit bike.

I can understand your thoughts on us by having to deal with Florida riders/riding conditions.
I wear full gear all the time, but I don't putt around. For me it has nothing to do with "being free" or any of that other lifestyle crap some people spew. For me, it's a fun method of travel that gives you a different perspective on the world that I personally enjoy.

Sold my '08 Yamaha YZ450F last year and most likely won't ever get another bike.
