Yes, but directly, how is 2.13 relevant? Other than that emergency base in case you're so bad you need relief from your employer.

yet some in this topic would suggest that you still tip b/c you received the "service." Screw that. The manager (or owner if I can get in touch with them) is getting a call from me the next day in addition to 0 tip.

Meh. Probably not. Just because I'm in the habit of what I normally tip.

i'm pretty hot headed when it comes to ignorance...
i talked to the manager right after
ETA: Manager actually told her - tip's aren't forced, if it was we'd add it onto every check.

Most nice places don't give minimum wage... They are based off tips.
Both restaurant jobs I've had paid less than minimum wage.

Unless they require restaurants to pay servers minimum wage(like CA does now) raising the minimum wage even several dollars will have ZERO impact on how restaurants deal with servers. My servers at the restaurant I manage make an average of 18.50 an hr. It is very easy to make over $10 an hour even in a very slow restaurant...

I was a server two years ago at a big chain restaurant that people love to hate on. Monday-Thursday lunch I usually averaged $8-9 an hour. A little higher on Friday lunch shifts. Dinner shift usually got you $12-15 an hour. Week end shifts could get you $15-$20 and hour. We also tipped out I believe 2.25% of our total SALES to the bartender, hosts, and busers. Which means those cheap asses that left $102 in the book for their $102.81 check cost me money. I will never forget
However my actual paychecks were almost always $0.00 after taxes. Although I always had enough $1 to make it rain

As does WA(and we have the highest minimum wage in the country). Our servers are probably pulling $30-50+ an hour. Yet I still tip 20% like a dumbass. It's expected.

Chili's, Olive Garden. TGI's, or Applebee's?

Wow. What a dick. It isn't the waiter's fault if you don't like your food. And you tip nothing for that. And, no, I have never been any type of waiter in my life. You just must be a dick.

I was a waiter in high school. The law was not enforced by the employer. I did not know it was a law since I was so young. One day I actually had to pay to go to work. It was because of tip pay out and the one table I had didn't tip. I quit shortly after.

NO they don't they make 2.13 if they're servers so you're whole premise is wrong, tips are how servers make they're money, if you don't want to tip go ahead and be that a-hole and you'll get the karma you deserve
everybody else in the restaurant who isn't serving of course makes minimum, but for servers in louisiana they make 2.13

We should adopt the European model for this and stop tipping all together.

Again, if the $2.13 plus their tips does not equal minimum wage or above they are required by law to then be paid minimum wage.

My pay hasn't changed..lol.

Well, currently I typically tip 15%, and yes, I would keep doing that. I don't see why it would need to change.
