Look I know you feel bad for her but it will get taken care of. Yall being there for her I'm sure helps to ease her embarrassment.

He calmly offered for the guy to come in let him get in touch with the husband and the bank to get it cleared up. He even offered to pay his standard towing fee. Nope dude told him he had heard that one before.

Put yourself in the guy's shoes. He's going to waste who knows how much time waiting on your boss to clear something with the bank when he could just take the car in and get paid like normal?
Wisconsin has some rich alumni. He'll be taken care of with a nice cushy 6 figure job.

Not sure how the law works for what repo guys can and can't do. The guy would just have waited and followed her to her next stop though. Would your boss rather that?

But it would be your sons choice don't you think?

No because I would be the parent. How is it any different then stopping him from doing anything else detrimental to his long term health? I would honestly rather my kids not get super into sports like I was. If he has one or two he plays for fun that's good. It serves no purpose later in life other than exercise. I want my kid to be interested in things like computer programming and software development. Those are the people winning at life right now.

A-List means can they carry a movie based on their name alone. I don't think any of these fall into that category. They are good actors and at one time Mel and Carrey could have but not anymore IMO.

Her explanation means nothing to the repo guy. He was hired to do a job can't blame him for it. I'm sure he appreciated everyone at your office ganging up on him too.
Crack has been proven dangerous to your health. So has Football. We have no idea how many people have suffered brain damage later in life from High School football. It's not worth the risk of latent effects.

Our boss even offered to get her caught up so he wouldn't take the car, wasn't hearing it.

I don't think it works like that. The guy was just doing his job and it sounds like the woman was being hysterical and giving him a hard time.

I can't see how as a parent you would deny your son something he wants to do

If your son wants to smoke crack would you let him because he wants to do it?

Will you actively discourage it though?

Yes. Playing football does nothing for you after high school. I still play Lacrosse competitively well into my 20's and play with guys in their late 40's still playing at a high level. Sports like Basketball, Soccer and Lacrosse allow you to play for exercise and fun way later in life.
Pro sports franchises are just a toy for the super wealthy here in the U.S. I don't see any owner here wanting to give up the control that comes with going public.
Youth football coaches are not qualified to diagnose concussions I don't care what kind of heads up training they claim to have. My neighbor's son got a concussion during an 8th grade game and it went undiagnosed for a day after the game. The coach sent him back in despite the kid being rattled. I will not be encouraging my kids to play football. Plenty of sports out there that are tough and you're not slamming your head on every play.
If they have been laid off then the fact is they just were not as important as they thought they were. A lot of companies are using the low prices to trim the fat. Can't blame them.

If LSU made it to the Final Four this year it would be one of the craziest runs ever.
You can blame MADD for the DUI hysteria caused over the last 35 years.
Baseball is a joke for keeping Pete out and leaving all the steroid users on the HOF ballot.
Good for him. Why shouldn't he be able to enjoy the day with his family at home.
The only thing worth trading Brees for would be for the Saints to somehow end up with Andrew Luck.
I am ok with it. Punching someone in the head is very dangerous. Hopefully this ruling will deter anyone else who would go to that extreme over a dumb rec league soccer game...
If it were me I would find a truck I was comfortable driving within the allowance they're giving.

Older generations are always quick to criticize this generation, but they never look in the mirror to see who raised this generation.

Or who is responsible for the current state of the Country.
What am I assuming incorrectly? Are the citizens of Ferguson stepping up to solve the real issues and take a stand against the crime in their town?
quote:

I don't agree. At all. Not every black person in Ferguson is standing up and protesting. Not every black person in Ferguson is a thug looking to shoot whitey.

This is the biggest excuse that always gets thrown around and quite frankly it's tired and nobody gives a shite when they see the citizens do nothing to improve their community. The fact is the citizens that live there obviously do not care that their town is a crime filled hell hole. Nothing is going to change there until the people living in that community start caring about their town.

quote:

So, basically, what you're saying is people like this lady do not deserve to have the same rights the police offer to people offered outside her neighborhood?

People like that lady need to step up and fix their community. I am willing to bet that Ferguson has become this way from generations of apathetic citizens that do not want to take action themselves. They want someone else to fix their problems, cops in this case, for them then bitch about the manner in which they do it.
This is a sad situation. The cops really have an impossible job in places like Ferguson. I often wonder if a better approach for police would be to just withdraw completely from areas of cities with high crime and force the residents to police themselves. Just have the cops patrol the borders and make sure the crime doesn't spread.
