too much tiger and not enough atmosphere which is what i think you are implying with "take it all in"

I agree, but it's not bad for something that was obviously rushed by a small team at ESPN's marketing department. It's got more atmosphere than most of the other ones. Texas A&M's is just a long shot of their stupid dog with the worst song ever. Florida's is just a few old people talking about the chomp.

You can see all of them at this youtube channel. LINK
I fully expect LSU to win the West.

Florida will probably sweep Mizzou, lose 2 of 3 to Alabama, then win 2 of 3 of against Vandy and Tennessee. If they do that, then we need to sweep at least two series (probably Tennessee and Texas A&M) and win 2 of 3 in the others (probably Alabama and Auburn).

It's not impossible by any stretch. We're still very much alive in the SEC race. But 10-2 is a tall order even if we have weak competition. Here's hoping Vandy figures out what their problem is and helps us out by stealing the series from Florida.
I really wish I could have made it out there for Dr. John. I've seen him at Tipitina's several times, and he is amazing live.

re: Alex Box vs Dudy Nobles

I have to give some credit to those Moo State fans. Drawing that kind of crowd the weekend after we swept and demoralized them is impressive.

But that said, for everybody complaining about the crowds at Alex Box, it's not like there have ever actually been 15,000 people at Dudy Noble. MSU fans lie to themselves and pretend like that's the actual attendance, but it's not. They never announce the actual attendance.

It's cool that they got a good turnout because it's a rivalry game, but 9 out 10 weekends, their paid and actual attendance don't live up to what we get at the Box.

As far as additions to Alex Box, a bern would be nice, but those rinky-dink temporary bleachers they park along fence in Starkville just look dangerous and I wouldn't go near them.
Congratulations, lawmakers. Your pointless, pandering bill will do nothing but sow discord between the people of Louisiana and, if passed, eventually get stricken down by the courts, but not before the state wastes precious funds on a futile legal defense.

Money for healthcare? WE CAN'T AFFORD IT!

Money for public schools / higher education? HELL NO ARE YOU CRAZY?!

Money to defend a pointless law that clearly won't be allowed to stand and is only designed as a petty shot at religious minorities and atheists? OMG YES, HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT?

Meh, if I was a head coach in the MAC and someone asked me what I thought of the conference, I'd probably say it's the best conference in football.

Nobody would ever take you seriously if you did that. You could say you think the MAC is underrated. You could say you think MAC teams can compete with teams from the power conferences. But if you said that the MAC was the best conference in football, you'd just get ridiculed and criticized for it, even worse than Rex Ryan was when he guaranteed the Jets would win the Super Bowl.

Obviously you have to defend your team and your conference, but saying something stupid like "the Big 10 is better than the SEC hands down" is just counterproductive.

I don't understand why more SEC fans don't understand this. The committee was put together to ensure that the four teams will not necessarily include the four best teams. The committee was put together to make sure that the other big conferences get a piece of the pie.

Well, I don't really give a shite about the SEC as a whole, but this could just as easily help us as hurt us. The BCS, in recent years, has given preference to SEC over other conference teams with the same record, and the committee might not. However, consider this year had Ohio State gone undefeated. The BCS Championship game would have been FSU and Ohio State. With playoffs though, the seeding probably would have been

(1) FSU vs (4) Alabama

(2) OSU vs (3) Auburn

I guess it's possible they would have given the (4) seed to Stanford over Alabama if they wanted to give major preference to conference champions, but I doubt they would have. And anyway, even if they had given it to Stanford, it's better for the SEC to have one team in contention for title than none.

Personally though, I hope no other SEC team besides LSU ever makes the playoffs, but that's just me being a hater.
