Popped my shoulder out of socket at football practice one time. That wasn't fun.

Had a partially torn meniscus repaired and a gangling cist removed on the same knee at the same time. After surgery mom didn't want to give me pain meds because she was scared I would get addicted. Wasn't a problem until meds from the hospital wore off. Woke up in the middle of the night begging for meds.

All kidding aside the worst pain I've ever felt was either..

1. Dry socket

or

2. Getting the palm of my hand pinched and stuck between the two handles of a rust pair of vice grips when I was about 9 or 10 years old. My poor grandmother was the only one home and she nor I could get them to release. She had to call the neighbor who was about 10 minutes away. The whole time I had to sit there with a huge chunk of the palm of my hand pinched in between the handles of these vice grips.

To give you a visual, here is a pair of vice grips...

Imagine holding them and when you go to squeeze them together the skin on the palm of your hand gets pinched in that middle part right under the word "vice"... now imagine having to sit there for about 10 minutes.

Broken collar bone and dog bite. They were unrelated events.

tss

i fricked up my shoulder pretty bad running into a wall. it seamed to heal ok.

forward to 5 years later. the shoulder started hurting me so bad that the only thing i could do without excruciating pain, was breathe. i could barely move.

i drive myself to the doctor. it was horrible getting in & out of my truck.

doc takes x-rays and says there's a spot on my shoulder that he was very concerned about and would call me in a couple of days...gives me a pain pill prescription.

now i've got bone cancer to worry about and am worried shitless. a week goes by and no call from the doc, so i call and tell the nurse what happened. she's says she'll check. she calls me back after a while and tells me the doc said there was nothing to worry about.

Burned my cornea with a curling iron. Literally ran around in circles waiting for a friend to bring the car around to take me to the ER. Big blister on the surface of my eye. I've had two kids -- this was far far worse.

I crushed my left hand, it took three surgeries and eighteen months of physical therapy to regain use of it.

I've been fortunate. However, one pain that stands put was in the 4th grade when I had warts frozen off my fingers and a large one right on the ball of my ankle. Liquid nitrogen at over 300 degrees below zero. It may as well have been hydrochloric acid being sprayed on my skin. Brutal.

Not me. When I broke my jaw, they put me under and put in a plate. No mouth wired shut stuff.

Anyways, my worst was also in the Army. I had a spiral fracture in my ring finger that needed some pins put in. Long story short, I woke up in surgery and couldn't move or say anything, but I could feel everything. They were busy BSing with each other and didn't notice my eyes were open for a long time(it seems, at least). The worst pain wasn't the drilling, it was from my arm being in a tourniquet. I would have chewed off my arm with my teeth in that moment.
