Trump-backed Julia Letlow secures support from statewide MAGA leader in Senate Race

Murrill, a MAGA Republican whose national profile has risen with lawsuits seeking to restrict abortion access and overturn previous Biden administration policies, joins Gov. Jeff Landry among statewide officials supporting Letlow's candidacy.
Letlow is seeking to unseat incumbent Sen. Bill Cassidy in the May 16 Republican primary that also includes contender John Fleming, the state treasurer.
She entered the race after securing the endorsement of President Donald Trump.
“Julia doesn’t just talk about defending our constitutional freedoms; she fights for them every single day,” Murrill said. “I know from personal experience that she stands with law enforcement, believes in enforcing our laws as written and refuses to back down when Washington threatens Louisiana’s sovereignty.
"We need fighters in Washington, not followers," Murrill said. "I’m proud to join President Donald Trump and Republicans from across our state in giving her my full endorsement. I know she’ll never stop fighting for Louisiana in the United States Senate and I look forward to working with her.”
Letlow said she and Murrill "share a deep commitment to protecting our constitutional rights, keeping our communities safe and ensuring our state has a strong voice in Washington."

Liz Murrill doesn't speak for anyone when it comes to endorsements.
