Men shopping with wives

I grudgingly went to the Mall of Louisiana today, looking for a Mother's Day gift. (It's hard to find something for an 88-year-old with dementia.) I saw no less than 3 couples shopping together for clothes for the wife. Is this a thing now? I assumed all men would rather have a root canal with no anesthesia than shop with the wife. What gives??

Is that safe?

I like my wife.
Doesn't really matter too much what we're doing. Pretty happy with all the time we get to spend together.

Going to Bath and Body Works and Hobby Lobby at least once a month then usually we will get some mexican food afterwards, makes for a really nice day.

At least the Mall of Louisiana has a Dick's for guys to go get lost in. They need a good knife store.

Why in gods name would someone even be married if they despise spending time with their wife that much?.

What's the upside of clothes shopping with women?
There is no right answer for "does this make me look fat?"
Give them the card and run an errand

We like hanging out together. I shop with her, whether it is clothes or anything else. She hangs out with me at Home Depot/Lowe's, woodworking stores, etc. Plus, when she is trying on clothes, and I am sitting in the companion chair, I have my phone. We usually both shop for things and get food during/after. We don't do it as often in the internet age, and I must admit I do miss it a little.

Insanity. I don't care if I need something from the mall and we're going to lunch after, I will not be standing around for her clothes shopping.

I sure wish I could do that now.

Dante's third level of hell.
I'm trapped in a Hallmark card store while my wife is picking out a card.

You should have posted how you enjoy clothes shopping with your wife. Then the OT would have pushed back and called it cuck behavior.

I'm extremely food motivated so if she starts off a conversation with, "I'm thinking we could go to the mexican joint and then I need a nice shirt and need to run to ulta..."
All I hear is "Mexican joint" and will agree. She knows this...that's why she starts with food and lists everything else after I've zoned out.

Just find something in her house and wrap it and give it to her.

My parents go shopping together all the time.
When I was growing up and they took us for seasonal wardrobe refreshes, Dad always came and actively participated.
I don't bring my husband when I want to go on my own and have little direction, but we certainly don't mind shopping together either.

"No. You're not even remotely fat and you know that." Pretty easy.

I shop with her not because I want to shop or watch her shop, but because it is important to her that we are spending time together.
We often make an afternoon or day out of it. She shops, then we may go get lunch or dinner afterwards, put the kids on the train, etc.
I know a lot of guys with family who I used to work with offshore. During their time off they would be hunting/fishing, working on the camp, helping a buddy they work with build his camp, build a shed, etc. Those same guys would hang out at the smoking area flipping out about their ex, their soon to be ex, or their resentful wife. I am certain they would never go shopping with their wife. You spend half a year away from home, and then when you are home you are with a work buddy that you already live with half of the year piddlydinking on a special project.
Those men you saw shopping are guaranteed to have better things to do, but they are supportive of their spouses needs. Kudos to them.
