Ali Lauder's character in Landman. Do you know anyone who acts this way in real life?

Someone also once said it to me about the characters in Californication, they did not believe people acted that way in real life.

Is it just me or do y'all know self centered over the top people in real life also?

(I definitely know a mom in real life who dresses like the mom in landman and does obnoxious trips with her college age daughter. Not a friend, a business acquaintance).

Who fixes big spread breakfasts on a work day?

Then say you’re late and grab a piece of dry toast…. While eggs, bacon, fruit, pancakes, milk, juice, etc. are all set out at the table.

The men in my neighborhood used to stand around drinking king of the hill style. That's all I got.

Television characters are way more likely to have big heads and small bodies than real world people.

Real world people vs. Television characters
The supposed narrative of why The Office is so popular is that "everyone knows someone they've worked with just like every character". I always thought that was a gross exaggeration. I'm not sure I've ever met anyone in an office that behaved close to how any of the characters on that show behave.

The biggest difference I notice between screen and real life is how much more confrontational people on the screen are. There's very little of that that I ever see in real life.

Wake up --- It's TV, it ain't real. Even the reality shows aren't reality.

"Refined" did the exact same thing. And they nailed it. If you've ever watched that show, know that there are multiple characters in that show in every plant up and down the Mississippi River.

I want to be able to jump off of an overpass onto the top of a moving vehicle and get right up like nothing happened.

If you understand that tv characters are often extreme exaggerations of people's most glaring qualities, then yes. I don't know anyone literally like that, but plenty who are the type

A Taylor Sheridan trademark. See Beth Dutton as an example. No one acts like that with impunity. Not to mention Taylor's character in Yellowstone. You mouth off that much and you're getting your arse kicked or at least into a daily/weekly fight,

TV shows of everyday people acting like we do would not make for much in the way of viewing.

And damn I wish a knew some chicks like those from Californication!

If you've ever trained with your flashlight you want all ambient light turned off.

*Point taken, though. Rarely do cops in Hollywood use their flashlights in a tactical manner. Plus, you still see them using massive D-cell flashlights.

Not true. My social media feed has hundreds of men and women quoting these shows about ‘I'm the exact same way’

If what you say is true. Someone is lying.
