Doubt that is true. School should be higher and college should be higher

I met my wife through a friend...In case we're doing an OT poll

Coworkers at a bar, not sure how that's classified for the OT poll.

Respect to the 0.02% who met online in 1981

Kids in college meet mates online.

Is this why the divorce rate is so much higher nowadays?

How could they obtain the data for this?
Met my wife at a friend's house for movie night. The movie was Kingpin.
Just celebrated #25 last November.

I technically met my gf online but we knew each other from our first job out of school years before reconnecting via the apps.
I would not say we "met" online.

Wonder how big the dataset is for 1930 vs 2024. Also the status of the relationship and age of the individuals in the relationships.
I would assume that the average person in 2024 has far more relationships as well as less likely to be in a serious relationship.
A dataset that includes "how did you meet" for couples celebrating a 10 year anniversary would hold a different context than asking incoming freshman how they met their last date.

Does it count as meeting through a friend if my wife's friend was screening Tinder for her?

And in the 1930s you could lump "neighbour", "friend", and "church" all together in most cases.

6+ out of 10 online? that seems hard to believe.

First met at school but reconnected (for real) over Christmas the senior year of her undergraduate year.

I'm genuinely surprised that "church" went so low so early. I would have thought it would have stayed in the double digits well into the sixties, if not much later.

Women started working and the internet was invented. Not sure what is so astonishing
