Few years they will announce more meetings to review the plan but need more money for the consultants.

That is a beautiful and historic building. It is a shame that they have been letting it sit there to rot for all of these years.

Glad the new mayor is being proactive, Mitch and the bitch did nothing for 16 years

Good. Get the damn Mardi Gras balls out of my neighborhood.

Dumb, if all they do is sit around and have meetings.
But if they are hiring architects and engineers, that shite is expensive. Especially on a historic building.
I'll withhold my outrage for now.

That place was great. Floats would go down Bourbon, later Rampart, turn on St Anne and they’d roll the stairs up to float to get off and go into the auditorium.
I wish they still went down Bourbon St.

I have fond memories of going to concerts at that place. Jethro Tull, Springsteen, Santana, Bob Welch, Rod Stewart (when he was still rock n' roll). Damn, I'm old...

Not only concerts. Mid south wresting and pro boxing was in there as well.

It says the funding is from a bond and the $1m doesn't come from the general fund

Place died when Mid South Wrestling quit having shows there.

Elvis and Led Zeppelin played there. The amount of history in that building is amazing.
The decision not to use the FEMA money to repair it was pure spite. They didn't want Mardi Gras krewes to be able to use it anymore. And the $40 million in FEMA money allocated to fix it 20 years ago will now only cover the roof and mechanical systems if that. The city cut off its nose to spite its face.

Democrat run cities have one thing in common and this is a shining example.
