Regardless of if you’re the sole earner or a new workforce participant or about to retire.

InB4 350K

This is the board where people think you need $250k to survive in Lafayette or Baton Rouge

So many factors play into what qualifies as a "good salary".

That being said, 350k

You have to understand that the OT is not reflective of reality.

And, tree fiddy ($350k).

Depends on where you live, who you financially support, how old you are, etc.

Way too many variables.

A single person in a low-cost of living location is WILDLY different than a family of 5 in an expensive area.

Im not an office guy and Alabama has low wages. I try to at least clear 100k but its pretty much either work ALOT of overtime or work on the road and its overtime anyways. Im getting a divorce so guess which one I chose

In LA I would say $150k with a family of 4 should allow you to accomplish all your goals

It depends on benefits and what makes you happy.

350 and no benefits or security in a job that makes you miserable is a terrible salary. You are a walking ATM for your wife and family. I know some of those.

$80 k in a pretty secure business and a job that makes you happy is a great salary.

You’re thinking of it in a one-dimensional way.

A real estimate of “good salary” would be better compared with what a good number is while also considering factors like quality of life, amount of paid time off, amount of work done after work hours, etc.

You can make 500k/yr with a terrible quality of life and unable to spend that money. Or you can make 120k/yr with plenty of time off and good slate of vacation days.

Which would you choose?
