They join Ludacris in bailing on the festival once the social media rage came in.

Their statement:
quote:

Shinedown is everyone's band. We feel that we have been given a platform to bring all people together through the power of music and song.

We have one boss, and it is everyone in the audience. Our band's purpose is to unite, not divide. With that in mind, we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock the Country festival.

We know this decision will create differences of opinion. But we do not want to participate in something we believe will create further division.

And to our fans, thank you for supporting and believing in us.

We love and appreciate you always.

All love and respect,
Shinedown

Getting bullied out of playing a festival that fans have already planned/paid for seems pretty lame tbh

I had considered going, now I will not. Sad to the see Shinedown give in the Sound of Madness but I think they deserve a Second Chance.

If RTC sold tickets, then customers should demand a refund and make Shinedown pay for the lost revenue.

It's weird how bands on the left side of the political spectrum have no fear of spewing their politics during their performances. So here's Shinedown pulling out of a music fest, that I assume is going to have a lot of conservative types attending.....what's that say about Shinedown?

Are they simply cowards or Woke? Don't give me the neutral BS, there is no neutrality in the current political environment.

I guess the last time I heard their music will still be 2005. Oh well.

If they had the courage to say "Got 2 words for ya, the first one starts with F and is often referred to as the F-Word. The second one ends in u" they would likely gain many more fans than they would lose.

I guess it was a forgone conclusion, considering their second album was called

Apparently excluding the audience at the rock the country fest.

Shinedown two weeks ago LINK

quote:

Kerch continued, “I don’t care. I’m just gonna go play a show. I really, really don’t care. You can keep your politics to yourself. I have no opinion one way or the other on Kid Rock. I love his music. This is about music. Ludacris wasn’t tough… I mean, it’s not like he needs the money, Jeez. If he’s not tough enough to stick it out, that’s just silly. That’s him being a coward, in my opinion.”

What politics? Just because the other performers range from conservative to only mildly woke instead of universally leftist?

Correct. Because Kid Rock and Jason Aldean have come out in support of Trump, the entire festival is considered "MAGA-adjacent" ( Rolling Stone's literal headline).

People are trying to bully Jelly Roll off it too. So far he hasn't.

Just an absolutely horrible band. I’ve never understood how this band can play arenas.
