What are the crushing consequences if they had just gone ahead with the performance? They were gonna get 8 more hate e-mails and/or phone calls?

Was anybody really threatening an early 2000s band with some sort of massive retribution?

You should go and support the event.

Your not going is supporting bands like Shinedown who pussy out to blue haired people...

Never heard of them before opening this thread. Their music seems unremarkable except to say that it has that generic “90s lethargic self-pity” vibe to it. Surprised they were ever scheduled for this festival. They sound more suited to soy-cucks.

So...

Their music is for everyone, so we're not going to do this concert and deprive that portion of "everyone" of our music?

Yeah. That makes complete sense.

Rolling Stone is *literal* propaganda. Doesn't even claim to be journalism, much less music journalism anymore

What about this music festival is political?

ETA: Ok from what I gather it’s just because some acts like Kid Rock and Jason Aldean support Trump. That’s so weak. So they can only perform at festivals in which every band is in lock-step with them politically?

my friends are conservatives too, but they just love fricking with me

LOL at the rapper taking the high road.

Why was he invited to a country-ish show anyway?

I always thought they started out in Christian rock with that band name. Apparently they did not.

“Our music is for everyone so we’re not playing to paying ticket holders”

Huh?

It sounds like their boss is the people who complained.

But we do not want to participate in something we believe will create further division.

They had best disband then.

Far as I can remember their biggest claim to fame was a cover of Skynyrd's Simple Man

Kerch continued, “I don’t care. I’m just gonna go play a show. I really, really don’t care. You can keep your politics to yourself. I have no opinion one way or the other on Kid Rock. I love his music. This is about music. Ludacris wasn’t tough… I mean, it’s not like he needs the money, Jeez. If he’s not tough enough to stick it out, that’s just silly. That’s him being a coward, in my opinion.”

Exposing themselves as actual cowards. Wow. I'm sure this will help their careers.

Did they just learn about Kid Rock and Aldean's love for Trump, in the past 2 weeks?

Also, Kid Rock and Aldean were not even a part of the lineup in the city in which Shinedown and Ludacris were set to perform:
