It’s well known that many sports journalists don’t even like sports but took jobs in the field because they couldn’t get one in their chosen area of interest.
Add in that most of these outlets are coastal and owned by globalist conglomerates and the results are predictable.

A crapload of them completely resent being sports journalist. You see it in all sorts of media. Sports, entertainment, tech...keeps going. They really wanted to be political journalist but for whatever reason, they just were not up to snuff so they got relegated to a field that they probably didn't like in the first place. So they just pretend they are political journalist and turn that field into what they want.

It’s far worse than casual resentment of doing a job they don’t like IMO.
Look at who these guys are: unathletic, ugly, pasty men who probably grew up resenting the jocks who got the girls and all the accolades growing up.
So they go to school, present themselves as the intelligentsia to build up their self confidence and spend their time with other similar men who reinforce their coastal mindsets.
