How do you convince 3 QBs to transfer to you in one offseason?

Because that is what is going to need to happen, minimum, right? Or am I just way off base here?

MVB probably transfers too, so you have zero scholarship QBs from last year.

You'll need to get at least two that believe they can start right away (that will be the hardest part), and one guy that is willing to develop.

1 of the guys will almost certainly be Trinidad type that is a G5 or Div 2 guy just happy to be there with upside, imagine.

Man, that is a tall order.

Money can certainly open doors, but beyond that, Coach Kiffin is quite persuasive. He was able to get Sanders, a starter from Oklahoma State, to transfer and back up Dart.

1 older starter
1 talented younger guy with no experience but who wants to be in a better situation
1 guy who probably won’t play anywhere but can be an emergency backup for money for a year

and money for all of them

Any QB that would be called on to start at LSU is going to have 10 other offers this offseason for big money

2 should be easy. Even if 1 is THE guy.. since lane just showed qbs get hurt, and turned qb2 into Heisman hopeful

3rd is like a rs fresh just as backed up on another depth chart, with chance to be in lanes offense long term

Sell two guys to compete for the job, then add a 3rd project.

Kiffin had Dart locked in as his starter ad got a starter from OKST (sanders?) and Walker Howard transfer to OM. I think he'll figure out the QB room next for year

Didn't notice Savage tigers post, but I did expand on it. Walker was the one to be developed

2023 At Ole Miss, Lane convinced Walker Howard and Spenser Sanders to transfer while he had Jaxson Dart coming back, two 3-star redshirt freshmen on the roster, and a 4 star Freshman (Austin Simmons) and another 3-star for signed for that class. Not sure how he did all that, TBH.

I'm going to be in the minority, but I don't think it is completely out of the realm of possibility that you could get Chambliss (if he gets the extra year) AND Leavitt to sign on.

The noted history of Lisfranc injuries and their history could help convince him and his advisors to get the necessary full recovery time and learn the system behind Chambliss without the pressure to perform, esp when not at full strength.

As it stands, he would be trying to dive straight into a new system with no reps with his new team in the heart of the season, possibly not at full strength due to an injury that has a high recurrence rate when not sufficiently healed.

Pay the 1 year guy 4M and Leavitt 2M with a guaranteed 4+ M if he starts year 2.

Certainly not likely to happen, but I would pitch it.

You don’t need 3 starters. Freshman transfer all the time without a job secured. Take 1 clear QB1, get another 2 to compete for QB2. Do it again next year.

It’s actually better to start fresh. But you are right there is a big possibility we wind up with 0 QBs in the spring. I see it as an opportunity

Lane has like 6 on this years ole miss roster I believe from what some have said so I trust he knows how to collect enough of the right guys to make it happen. If he gets the waiver Chambliss would be obvious choice being he already knows the system. Him or the backup for Ole Miss that started the year for them. Whoever Lane is comfortable with I am completely comfortable with them. He has proven he will light up the scoreboard with whoever his guys are. Gonna be a good time moving forward.

Underwood going the Dante Moore route and sitting 1 year would be ideal and get Chambliss/Leavitt to be the starter

Kiffin did a couple years ago at Ole Miss.

He already had Dart and he got the Okie State QB & Howard to transfer in the same year.

Ideally you get a guy either one year to play and a guy with 2-3. Van Buren will leave if he doesn’t win out.
