Yep, at least the BCS brought some common sense to the decision. “Committee” bias needs to be erased. SOR matters.

An 8/12 team playoff with the BCS selection process would be perfect. I would take 16 teams if it meant getting rid of the biased committee.

No it didn’t. It was 2/3 controlled by popularity polls of media people and coaches’ SIDs.
The BCS changed the rules on a whim because voters would change their votes on a whim to fit narratives they wanted. That’s how you got Bama gifted a redo against LSU despite not even playing in the SEC championship, having 3 point OT loss at home while OSU had - a 3 point OT loss on the road, and having double the top 25 wins of Bama, and getting left out despite being conference champions.
The result of the BCS title game doesn’t mean Bama deserved to be there over OSU. It just showed that Media narrative s and coaches manipulating the polls screwed over deserving teams.

I know I can't be the only one enjoying the chaos.
Feels like all the chickens are coming home to roost this season with the calendar BS, NIL, bloated conferences who stupidly did away with divisions, and now the overcomplicated and off number of 12 teams with stupid qualifications. It's great

What do you guys want to replace the committee with? Biased polls? The only thing that works and is used in every sport in the world are automatic qualifiers so every team knows in August what they need to do. This sport will get there within a decade. It wasn’t long ago folks like you guys were against the BCS 1 vs. 2. Thankfully the non- expanders are losing the battle.

I think a 6-team playoff is the sweet spot. Ranked in whatever way the BCS did it. Top two teams get a bye. Any team ranked lower than 6 is not a legit NC contender.
Also, this will never happen bc money.

This is a dumb post because numbers 8-12 aren’t likely to win the playoff anyway.

We would still have the BCS if it were LSU-Oklahoma State in 2011-12 instead of an LSU-Bama rematch.

Allabummer being in is all the undebateable proof we need that CFP is an absolute joke.

PAYoff Committee infatuation with Bummer knows no bounds.

We have had 1 year of the 12 team playoffs so far and the #8 seed won it all.
You can argue they shouldn’t have had a shot at that after losing to Oregon and Michigan in the regular season.

They should have never over ranked Notre Dame all year. If they were just honest with them and kept them at a 14-15-16-17 ranking all year, they wouldn’t have felt robbed and would have had realistic expectations. When you rank them that high as they did all year and they came to collect and get left out, I would obviously be pissed too.

At this point, just let fricking ChatGPT pick them.

you can do a power ranking formula and eliminate auto bids

Well, except for that one time, last year, in the first year of the 12 team CFP, where the No. 8 seed (Ohio State) won the championship. And they beat the No. 7 seed (Notre Dame) to do so.

Most of the problems are solved if you remove the G5 teams.

The whole buying players away from teams and them not having to at least sit one season has turned off a good bit of my college football interest...or should I say excitement.
So you're not the only one enjoying the chaos. I'm loving it and hope it continues with the "blue bloods" and many of their fans whining and crying.
