An advertisement with the headline "In Louisiana, we value capitalism, not socialism" took up a full page in Monday's edition of the Wall Street Journal.
The promotion is directed at New Yorkers who will soon have a new mayor in Zohran Mamdani, a state lawmaker who is a democratic socialist.
"As you rethink New York City, rethink Louisiana," says the ad, which was paid for by Louisiana Economic Development, the state agency that promotes economic growth.
"We reward success — not punish it. We compete — not complain. We cut taxes to win new business. We grow jobs — not government," it boasts.
It also invites people to visit the website LouisianaNow.Biz to "apply for one of 70,000+ job opportunities or learn more about relocating your business."
Gov. Jeff Landry took to Fox News on Monday to promote the campaign.
quote:
"While those folks might want to embrace socialism in New York, we know what that looks like. It's going to be a mess," he said. "For those people that embrace capitalism and don't want to complain, but do want to compete, we want you to come to Louisiana."
The move comes shortly after Shreveport booster and business owner Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson urged people to move to northwest Louisiana in the wake of Mamdani's mayoral victory.

He'd do better keeping his mouth shut. Anyone thinking of moving to Louisiana would quickly think otherwise once he opens his mouth. Stupidity oozes off his tongue.

Nope, they need to stay in New York with the politics they voted for.
Time ppl realize elections have consequences.
Time some of those folks lay in the bed they made!

He should just say ‘Louisiana’s is bottom of the barrel but cost of living is low, property tax is low - so come here, live like a king and spend your money.’

Should we expect an influx of bagel carts on the corner of Texas and Market Streets anytime soon?

I've never seen a politician try to suck Trump's dick as much as him.
And that's saying something considering that a lot of the GOP's have been trying.
